QUOTE(ceo684 @ Mar 12 2022, 12:20 AM) Fit a 10mA RCD per water heater (at the DB box). Saw this article as well and forwarded to my contractor, as I'm currently doing major reno for my place. The why's are here - https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...ost&p=103837393 Also, for the mains RCD (whole house) use a 30mA. Humans die above 50mA leakage current passing through the water heater. Hence, 100mA/300mA RCDs are "close one eye" or "close two eyes" = they will kill you before they trip. The electrician initially only wanted to put a 1xRCCB 100mA for whole house. When I enquired about the water heater + solar heater, he said that it all comes with built in ELCB. Anyhow, I've insisted he put a RCCB 10mA for each heater and 30mA for others Thanks ceo684 and other sifus for sharing your extensive knowledge and guidelines from your many posts. Important for those who want to do a up new DB, best ask what is included and brand - look up the many post by ceo684 and other sifus on LY) Some might even give you RCCB 300mA! (which is wrong and extremely dangerous). By ST guidelines, suppose to have RCCB (maximum mA) 100mA - lighting, etc, 30mA - socket 10mA - each heater Found this very nice guide by ST which includes the examples of proper wiring layout (attached) ST_Guidelines_rElectricalWiringInResidentialBuildings.pdf ( 427.2k ) Number of downloads: 112 |

Hi all, would like to ask for advice. I am looking for Rainshower instant water heaters with DC pumps. Planning to get 2 sets, and my budget is around RM 450/set. Can sifu recommend which brand & model to go for?

QUOTE(t3n @ Mar 15 2022, 02:45 PM) I used joven 30ip... Pls avoid that at all cost.. not sure why but both of my unit water is not hot enough even i turn the Temp all the way to maximum... Water heater's output water temperature depends on:1. Power rating (kW) - The higher the power rating, the higher the output water temperature. 2. Water source water temperature - the colder the water source, the colder the output water temperature. 3. Water flow rate - The faster the water flow, the shorter time the water source passing thru the heating element, the colder the output water temperature. Most common SIRM certified instant water heater power ratings are 3.6kW (PANASONIC, JOVEN, ALPHA), 3.8kW (MIDEA, TOSHIBA) to 4.2kW (CENTON). If these are not hot enough for u, u can opt for Highlands version 5kW range (CENTON, JOVEN), usually meant for colder places like Genting or Cameron. Or there are even hotter ones in the 7kW range (CENTON, BEEBEST), but for those u need higher spec 6mm cables. In your case, if u live in KL weathers and your water heater is still not hot enough, it is usually your water flow is too fast (maybe you have external water pump like Grundfos or living in condo with powerful water pressure), or u should upgrade to an instant water heater with higher kW because your current one is not satisfactory enough for u. The cheapest one in the market is CENTON EcoSerene Rainshower (Shopee showing RM499 only, very good reviews), with low cost, shorter rainshower;Prefer brands such as Pana or Joven followed by those brands that are made in China like TOSHIBA, MIDEA, HAIER (Shopee showing RM555 for TOSHIBA); and others that are above that price that are made in Malaysia, like your PANASONIC, JOVEN, ALPHA, CENTON. |

QUOTE(Selene Yeo @ Mar 26 2022, 12:57 PM) Water heater's output water temperature depends on: Thanks for the advice. I decided to try Centon Serene SR711 for my guest room. RM450 for instant water heaters with DC Pump + Rainshower is impossible. The cheapest one in the market is CENTON EcoSerene Rainshower (Shopee showing RM499 only, very good reviews), with low cost, shorter rainshower; followed by those brands that are made in China like TOSHIBA, MIDEA, HAIER (Shopee showing RM555 for TOSHIBA); and others that are above that price that are made in Malaysia, like your PANASONIC, JOVEN, ALPHA, CENTON. However, for Joven, I will go for the non-rainshower type for myself. Can I have your suggestion on which model (SB11iP or SL30iP) to pick? I need a DC inverter type with a pump. Not sure what is the difference between these 2 models |

CENTON and MIDEA is using enamel-coated tank (newer and more reliable technology), while JOVEN is using stainless steel tank (old technology, more prone to leakage and more expensive).I suggest to go with brands with enamel-coated tank since has better leak resistance and cheaper on average.
