At first i suspect is engine overheat as i downhill that time keep on using 2nd and 3rd gear repeatedly....
but the water temperature is just 80 Celsius which is normal.
So far i remember i din pass any flood place. Because downhill all water was goto the longkang already.
Just wet floor after rain that kind.
Now the light no longer on anymore. I just worries is it safe to continue drive.
Thats why asking any of you face this problem b4 ?
Suppose to be remain on until the error been solve and reset. But this one turn off itself.
Added on November 14, 2011, 4:14 pmOh ya K.Lee, how is your aircond bad smell issue ? Solve already ?
As what I told onijoseph before, it may be a case of pressure difference in fuel tank that causes the engine check light to come on. A loose fuel cap is also possible, but I changed my views a little bit on that. A loose fuel cap may cause the engine light to come up as the fuel pump requires pressure to work (for carburetor cars), and that the change or lack in pressure can be detected by the fuel pump sensor in the tank (both carburetor AND fuel injection cars), thus causing the light to be on. If the fuel tank is tightly shut, when you go uphill/downhill there are pressure changes around the tank, but not in the tank.
Guys that've been up Genting with me before in my car would know exactly what I'm saying. All the empty bottles lying in my car that are tightly sealed expand/shrank due to pressure changes. Good demo.
But if you send your car to SC and they check, even if the light is already off, there still should be a log of what's bad.
How I wish that it's like BMW/Porsche's system where they tell you directly what's the problem on the dashboard monitor

last time when i drove down from cameron highland during wet weather, the light also went up.
then i ask about it here and some suggested that it might be the fuel lid not tight, but i dun think that is the reason.
then just after a day, when i start my car again, the light when off.
now i believe the probable reason will be the O2sensor. just maybe.
K.Lee, so for the moment your car no smell alr? nice.
O2Sensor? An O2Sensor that's not working will not suddenly jump back to work. I'm not saying that a faulty O2Sensor would not cause the engine light to come up, but if it's left untouched and your car is still new, there is no reason it would cause the engine check light on.
