At first i suspect is engine overheat as i downhill that time keep on using 2nd and 3rd gear repeatedly....
but the water temperature is just 80 Celsius which is normal.

So far i remember i din pass any flood place. Because downhill all water was goto the longkang already.
Just wet floor after rain that kind.

Now the light no longer on anymore. I just worries is it safe to continue drive.

Thats why asking any of you face this problem b4 ?

Suppose to be remain on until the error been solve and reset. But this one turn off itself.

Oh ya K.Lee, how is your aircond bad smell issue ? Solve already ?

As what I told onijoseph before, it may be a case of pressure difference in fuel tank that causes the engine check light to come on. A loose fuel cap is also possible, but I changed my views a little bit on that. A loose fuel cap may cause the engine light to come up as the fuel pump requires pressure to work (for carburetor cars), and that the change or lack in pressure can be detected by the fuel pump sensor in the tank (both carburetor AND fuel injection cars), thus causing the light to be on. If the fuel tank is tightly shut, when you go uphill/downhill there are pressure changes around the tank, but not in the tank.

Guys that've been up Genting with me before in my car would know exactly what I'm saying. All the empty bottles lying in my car that are tightly sealed expand/shrank due to pressure changes. Good demo. laugh.gif

But if you send your car to SC and they check, even if the light is already off, there still should be a log of what's bad.

How I wish that it's like BMW/Porsche's system where they tell you directly what's the problem on the dashboard monitor doh.gif

QUOTE(onijoseph @ Nov 14 2011, 04:48 PM)
last time when i drove down from cameron highland during wet weather, the light also went up.
then i ask about it here and some suggested that it might be the fuel lid not tight, but i dun think that is the reason.
then just after a day, when i start my car again, the light when off.

now i believe the probable reason will be the O2sensor. just maybe.
K.Lee, so for the moment your car no smell alr? nice.
*
O2Sensor? An O2Sensor that's not working will not suddenly jump back to work. I'm not saying that a faulty O2Sensor would not cause the engine light to come up, but if it's left untouched and your car is still new, there is no reason it would cause the engine check light on.

Understand what you mean, however authorize SC such as pride region was asking for RM64 for check.
I think i gonna go pure proton edar sc for a free check.

That fellow told me the owner's manual got mention diagnosis is not free.

Well... is rainy day , wet floor during downhill...

Nope, no flood at all.
*
hmm.gif weird

coz I suspect is just some kind of sensor is wet, hence the check engine light is on. Then after a few days, the sensor kering balik so the light is gone. Quite common case in Saga if the car went through flood. But your car dint go for a swim... hmm.gif

I think might be the petrol tank pressure which mention by xandras

But also wired this morning is still Light ON until i reach SC off engine and start again.

By the way, since now already off, i plan to drive until coming saturday send to Maluri Proton Edar SC check check see how later.

As long as the light is not Blinking , is still ok for drive.

Hahaha looks like we gonna blacklist all shiang hin's SC (kecuali the one at Jalan Tun Razak which the 1st one found the metal knocking sound if i not wrong)

I think that one also belongs to shiang hin, coz i found their address in shiang hin website also.

It takes time before the light goes away, if it is really fuel pump sensor issue..

xan's explaination is reasonable now.
maybe some sensors inside the fuel tank give false alarm due to atmospheric change.
