QUOTE(Shazzac @ Dec 7 2011, 11:50 AM) well, their promos are only like a couple of times a year, don't think it's justifiable to upgrade their servers for this. There's this thing called cloud computing today where you can easily pay to add temporary resources when needed only. With faster servers they can sell tickets faster and more people would be doing impulse buys instead of being turned away. AA is only losing sales IMO with their slow servers.

Servers have been stable for awhile after the rush. Just can't find a destination to go to that I really want. Some cheap fares to Melbourne but not much else interesting.

Loving the sale but I'm so broke. Gold Coast for RM715, Orly for RM1800, Hangzhou for RM650 all in April-June. I guess I'll have to wait, can't afford them all

QUOTE(ukiya @ Dec 28 2011, 01:04 PM) hey guys, Had anyone try www.optiontown.com before? usually when you purchased AA ticket, when they send u an email, below the email have such ads/link that show u the upgrade etc... Has anyone try it? Successful got the upgrade? How was it? I mean the services... Thanks! Yes I tried it but did not get it, booked too late. Did you google around? Each AAX flight for example only has 12 premium seats altogether and most of them are taken up by paying passengers so you need to be very early to get it. The only problem is that optiontown uses USD so they charge you USD (converted to RM at a certain date) then they refund you in USD (converted back to RM at a different date) so you could profit or lose depending on the exchange rate.

QUOTE(ukiya @ Jan 5 2012, 10:28 AM) But if I'm really get it, then it will double up everything that I had pre-purchase such as meals, luggage allowances, etc... Because I only notice the offer after I make the purchase of everything ... Too bad... Anyway, do hope for the best! That's correct, if you do get optiontown everything you bought previously basically is burnt and you have to pay AAX again Beautiful way of making money eh?

QUOTE(mugenz @ Jan 18 2012, 02:01 PM) wallop the burger then sleep all the way lol~ Haha it's like fasting ;-) I suggest buying the food on the outgoing flight when they charge in RM. The incoming flight is charged based on the destination so it could be NZD, AUD, GBP, Euro etc. and much more expensive.

QUOTE(prescott2006 @ Feb 12 2012, 10:09 PM) My girlfriend and I will go Bali this March. We haven't done the web check in. So how should we check our seat location to ensure that we will sit together? Or we need to pick the seat during web check in? But I didn't see an option to pick a seat when I 'mock' web check in(click next without confirm). This is part of Air Asia's hidden costs. If you don't pay to choose your seats then in my experience Air Asia will randomly seat you everywhere even if the plane is empty.

QUOTE(cute_miao @ Dec 13 2012, 12:08 PM) 550am..no choice but i guess its cab oni from setapak to kl sentral oni right? or better if go from setapak to lcct? any better idea or cheap taxi driver? That early I wouldn't risk taking a bus simply because if the bus is late etc you're going to be in trouble. Taxi is not as bad. If your trip is not as long, drive and park at LCCT instead. There's another thread listing reasonable LCCT parking. I've done it many times before.

QUOTE(holyghost @ Apr 2 2013, 01:41 PM) Can AirAsia ticket be refund or postphone the date if by chance the departure date falls on election day? Instead of asking here, why not ask Air Asia directly? They have both Facebook and Twitter accounts and have been quite responsive.
