Actually the reason why people competing to board in first because some stupid ******* will put their hand carry at the overhead compartment even though the seat does not belongs to them. This cause a person who sit below the overhead compartment got no space to put their handcarry and the stewardess will put it some far from their seat.

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Dec 13 2011, 06:10 PM)
Actually smart traveller boarding last. There are many passenger "competing" to board the plane last. Why wait 15 to 30 min in a cramp and stuffy cabin for the last passenger to board the plane ? Boarding first and sitting at an aisle seat and get up twice again for the meddle seat and window seat passengers to get in ? doh.gif

It was quite sometime I didn't take AA biggrin.gif So not sure now how is the fighting for compartment.

I prefer to sit behind start from row 16 and above. Reason being?? Near to toilet laugh.gif

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Dec 13 2011, 06:54 PM)
The above was long time ago, since 7kg and 1 hand carry strictly enforced, more passengers use lite and soft cover carrying bags. Carrying standard cabin size hard shelve 20" case will take up 3 kg of your allowance and easy target of being eye-picked by AA staff manning the gate to weight your hand carry. Now plenty of overhead compartment space.
NO need to hurry hurry queue 20min at the gate then wait 20 min in the plane then get up again for me the board the plane to sit at the window seat. Hahaha.

You can do web chk in right?? Upon reaching at the airport, you can just drop your luggage. Maybe can ask your boss to release you 30 minutes earlier.

quote=moody5,Feb 23 2012, 12:30 PM]
just wanna ask the opinion of you all that have flown to Australia via Airasia

My flight departure time to melbourne is 10.10p.m
and my working hour finish at 6.30p.m

so i was thinking what if i take cab ride from KL to LCCT which estimated 1.30 hours inclusive of jam

then i will be reaching LCCT at 8p.m

as i know counter close at 9.10p.m where there is APP (advance processing or something like that) which I don't know how long does it take

Do you all think that it will be rushing? Is it enough time for me to check in?

KL jam is very unpredictable. Better for you to leave early.

after doing web check in, the print out of the web check in doesnt work as Valid boarding pass as i still need to go to counter to go through the APP process

Not me. Not until I am in desperate situation where there's no other airline plying the route I want to fly.

They used aggressive tactics to expand. Of cos there will be risks for having a loss. High risk = high return. They might lose some reputation. But most of the time, people will still prefer buying from them. Its already in our mindset. sad.gif

They will remove it from your bag and throw it away. So better for you to put your more than 100ml liquid inside your check in luggage.

QUOTE(lcyeap90 @ Mar 27 2012, 11:29 PM)
lol..thanks very much for the info..
how if the spray is more than 100ml? say 150ml..

For a budget traveller, you post really annoyed me. Rule is rule. Either you follow the rules or don't board the plane. You don't want to buy kilo for your chk in luggage so just follow the rules. What is the problem?

QUOTE(lcyeap90 @ Mar 27 2012, 11:45 PM)
it's just the container there written more than 100ml.
but it's actually used and should be less than 100ml already.
the body spray only come in one size..150ml.
they will throw the spray away even if it's toiletries?
i don't want to buy the luggage just to keep my spray la..
thought of travelling in budget..
use hand carry..haha..

I normally buy my travelling insurance from AIA. I remember last time got 1 big accident happen in China. Several passengers involved in the accident bought their travelling insurance from AIA. AIA flew them back to KL + paying for the medical expenses. We must see what is the coverage when buying travelling insurance.

QUOTE(nordingh @ Apr 3 2012, 01:02 PM)
No...  it's expensive and less benefits...

I have post some info about the insurance I take before in previous page..

I am also petite. My handcarry consists of my 02 nites baju + undergarment (just in case if my luggage gone missing), camera, my shampoo, toothbrush, cleanser, make up etc. I put all those thing to travelling kit. Why would you want to bring the whole make up case when you can put in into smaller jar/bottle?

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Apr 13 2012, 03:55 PM)
rclxms.gif whoa~ tongue.gif my case different frm urs

i'm petite so i feel so troublesome to tuck along alot of stuffs into my handcarry cz i would nt be able to carry it. my makeup n cleanser is too much so i lazy to separate it n put the large bag into my luggage. i bring along a handbag n a backpack (for my cams). if i tug along my makeup, b4 travel i dy feel heavy. imagine if coming bek wif those stuffs i bought means ++ extra heavy hehe..

go handcarry (handbag n backpack = ady feel heavy) + 1 check in luggage
bek handcarry (handbag n backpack + foods (if any) + fragile stuffs = very loaded dy) + 1 check in luggage + another extra backpack (usually i bring along to put extra stuffs tat i bought)

tat's y i try to minimize my handcarry whn i go travel cz usually i bek wif lotsa stuffs.. even sometimes i put my stuffs into my fren's luggage  blush.gif

not only in LCCT, happened in KLIA also. Our luggage handler are very bad. Even if you make a report, nothing will happen. They have CCTV on the luggage department but since the managers also part of the scam, they will do nothing. Our KL airport is a big embbarasement to the nation. My luggage also kena korek many times. That is why I never put any valuable item in the luggage. I take it with me. Nowadays I will wrap my bag with the plastic wrapper.

My friends used to work with MAS and told me how they work targeting luggage with goods item.

QUOTE(RikaaLika @ May 6 2012, 03:02 PM)
had a bad experience when me n bf fly from indonesia to lcct...
his luggage is the one with zipper,
mine is hard shell,no zipper - just combination code + lock key (L n R) oldskool type..

when we arrive at lcct...
his bag is alrdy open 1/3 of it..
he lost 2 of his batik shirt we bought in indonesia and 1 polo shirt..  vmad.gif  mad.gif

i had no idea why this thing can happen... hmm.gif  doh.gif

they should put cctv at the bay n monitor the workers..

after that i learn my lesson n always use the hard shell w/o zipper luggage everytime i go with airasia..

IS THERE ANY OTHER CHEAP AIRLINES I SHOULD BE AWARE REGARDING THIS ISSUE???
or is it only happen in lcct? unsure.gif

They scan every luggage. They do it inside so that is why we didn't see our luggage being scan. I am using soft duffel bag too because I remember I used the hard case luggage and it was beyong repair when I arrived Surabaya for our conference several years ago.

QUOTE(Shazzac @ May 6 2012, 05:19 PM)
But how do your friend justify if the luggage got good items? Need some tips for this.

For myself, I never put valueables inside my check in bag too. But touch wood, my experiences with KLIA and LCCT has been good from last time till now. Maybe those trolley luggage got some damage (not bad ones but light damage). Now that I'm using soft duffel bag, it's light so even if they throw it around, won't be much damage since the weight is not there to be damage plus the material, even if drop, also no problem.

How much is it for the plastic wrapped bag btw? Expensive?

In Incheon they don't have plastic wrap. Only string wrap but good quality string. The same string they use to tight up boxes. They wrap tightly back and forth and no way they can open our bag unless they cut the string. I paid KRW3000 for string wrap in Incheon.

QUOTE(Shazzac @ May 7 2012, 11:10 AM)
Oh RM10 per bag only... tongue.gif I wonder how much it'll be to get it wrapped overseas!!! Duffel bag they'll be so nice to wrap?

Added on May 7, 2012, 12:02 pmNothing much really. They have master key to open most padlocks. I bought an expensive padlock with difficult combination. Not to say they cannot open it but takes longer time to open. Hopefully by then they get fed up and just leave my bag alone biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ronnie @ May 7 2012, 10:52 AM)
Possible to share the tips so that we can avoid our bags being "broken into "
*

Added on May 7, 2012, 12:05 pmActually they can open our luggage if they suspect something inside the bag after scanning. They will closed our luggage after that. That is why you shouldn't put an expensive or valuable item inside your luggage. Put it in your handcarry. Our luggage handler is panjang tangan.

Shows how to open a typical suitcase or bag that has a locked zip. Once open the case can then be closed again and will appear as if it were never opened.

If you don't lock your luggage, you will encounter another problem. Someone will put drugs or any unwanted item in your bag.

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ May 7 2012, 12:29 PM)
yes agree!! my sis luggage is locked wif padlock (without combination code tongue.gif) after arrive back to KL, the whole padlock missing.  doh.gif  lolz so i wonder, it's wise to lock our bag wif locks? cz they might tot our bag have alot of valuable stuffs inside, n lead them to open it.. tongue.gif

Why don't u just take the red bus direct from KL Sentral to LCCT?? No need to wait and stop right at the airport instead of getting down and waiting for the shuttle bus to come.

QUOTE(secretagent2 @ May 17 2012, 01:21 PM)
Will be taking my trip soon.

KLIATransit > Salak Tinggi > LCCT. Flight departure is 6.45am. Reaching LCCT at 5.30am (according to their schedule).

1. Do you think I have sufficient time to check in B4 the counter closes? i.e long que,
2. Is the shuttle bus from salak tinggi to LCCT punctual?

Anybody experience this B4? Need some advice. Thanks.

Yes, because if group of 3 or 4 can combine luggage weight but if you travel solo, like it or not you have to stick to your kilo tongue.gif
