hmnn...I'm planning to get a Samsung S2 phone.. which one shall i choose? I9100 or I9100G? apparently, I heard the old I9100 model has better 3D performance in android gingerbread using the RM Cortex A9 Exynos chipset. On the other hand, the new S2 I9100G model with TI-OMAP chipset which is the same soc with Nexus which is currently used for Android ice cream sandwich...seems like the intention of the chipset upgrade is for the upcoming Android ice cream sandwich? http://popherald.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-a-l...news/2011/11/11Do you think the old I9100 ( Exynos chipset) might run into compatibility issue when upgrading to Android ice cream sandwich in future?

QUOTE(antt00 @ Nov 18 2011, 12:18 AM) But you can't change the taskbar icon, menu colors, etc.. Actually you can if you are rooted and know how. Added on November 18, 2011, 12:21 amThe TI-OMAP chip in SGS2 is not to prepare it for ICS. Otherwise we will probably be one of the last to get it not the first. Its cos samsung cannot produce enough Exynos chipset. International SGS2 in important countries are still using Exynos chipset. Not sure if this speculation would be true http://www.droid-life.com/2011/08/03/googl...andwich-charge/Anyway, i've checked with several dealers..only the "G" model is available from SME The "non-G" model only still available in the market but only AP units Neverthrless, "G" model is more expensive than the "non-G" model

Just made up my mind yesterday of getting the "G" version since I prefer orginal SME set, reduced heat issue and better lasting battery to compromise with the slightly lower CPU performance I have another question about rooting... 1.) Will it void the warranty of the phone? 2.) Let's say if ICS will be launched next month, do I need to root the phone again after upgrading to ICS?
