Just tried using the Wifi Direct for file sharing. It was... amazinggg!

Anyone tried it, as opposed to BT?

BTW, I read that BT3.0 supposed to utilize the wifi for file transfer, somehow it doesn't work, since SGS1 until now. Was it just Wifi Direct after all and no tricks up BT's sleeve?

Hi,

I have flashed to XWKJ3 and CSC to OLCKH1 so that it has XME support.

I see that it has the blue overscroll glow, but not the CRT off animation. Anyone has got their CRT off animation fix for this version?

Another thing, when I tried to wipe Dalvik cache from CWM, it states E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]

Is that normal?

my i9100 stock kernel version is 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF1-CL265340, the only CF root file i can use is  CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OJV_KF1-v4.0-CWM4.zip right???

can i use other files like  e.g. CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_KJ3-v5.0-CWM5.zip or  CF-Root-SGS2_XW_LUX_KJ1-v5.0-CWM5.zip ???
*
No, just stick with KF1 to root your phone. As stated on the 1st post by ChainFire.

Alternatively, flash to the latest ROM like I did and you can use the latest CF-Root. smile.gif

The dalvik cache thingy is normal, just proceed to wipe and ignore that error. For CRT look in xda i9100 themes section, maybe someone have done it. Or just use roms that Jkay support.

Thanks, will check it out later.

Sine you are still on KI4, use the KI4 one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183803

Wait, your modem is KI4 but your phone is KJ3?   unsure.gif
*
Yup yup, phone is KJ3 but modem is KI4. I got it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

It's bundled in 1 file, so I just re-flash CSC over at later time.

Thanks for the link. smile.gif

EDIT: APM has no support for KJ3 yet. sad.gif Will bookmark it for future reference.

until now i am still abit apprehensive to put my cc info in my phone, anyone else feels the same?
*
You only key in your info thru your phone. Your cc info will be stored in Google Checkout server, in the cloud (or the now supported PayPal). Nothing can be stolen from your phone.

Though I did get a couple of fraud cases a couple days after i store my cc info into Googke Checkout, via PC.

Do it at your own discretion.

I bought some apps from Market using cc in phone. Every time after I done my purchase I will delete the cc information on Google Checkout.

It is because in Android Market there is no need to re authenticate your card during purchase, this makes me feel very insecure. Normally I buy stuffs over Internet using cc I will receive a SMS for verification purpose, but purchasing apps through Android Market doesn't.

SMS verification? Which bank was that?

Hello & hi to all sifusss....  smile.gif

Is it accurate to use 'My Data Manager' apps
in SGSII ??

thanks    smile.gif

Newer batches of phones come with this app???
So far the best seem to be 3g watchdog. But you can give My Data Manager a try and get your result a month later.

My gf is using BB, battery life more or less same with my Android. Hers not even touch screen.
*
The infamous long lasting battery on BB was misleading. Once started using data (3g) sure tapao one. Less than 1 day. I have withnessed a few BB users fixed their data to using Edge only, to conserve battery juice.

So, there you have it about the BB battery 1 week standby myth. :-)

you're so right!!!!!  but the charging time for full charge about 3 hours. so long and goodnite!
*
Hahaha, my sentiment exactly when I hopped over.

SGS2 battery life is acceptable. Better than my SGS actually. I'm comparing both running on 3G full time. Can get almost 1 day on minimal usage. Around 22 hours in between charge. If use it for a lot of texting, maybe drops until 18 hours or so.

So, cherish it.

accessing gallery got concern with data connection too?
*
You never know, whole Android relies on data connection.

During sync, if data connection is bad, it will jammed up the phone. Maybe not as bad for SGS2 which has 2 cores.

I believe lolz1120 was complaining that the gallery was loading pictures from his phone slow. Not syncing pictures from somewhere else.
*
Let's see if he notice his gallery sluggishness during mobile data/wifi.

Reason why I ask this, because all this while my gallery loads very fast.

But just now I was at edge connection area, and my gallery takes a while to load. So, go figure. smile.gif

Hmm.. you maybe right. Seems like gallery might be looking for something to sync (if you have active internet connection) even if you didnt ask it to and edge will definately slow it down.  hmm.gif
*
To further prove this point, I did not sync any of my picasa albums in the 5 Google accounts in my phone.

Try to monitor and see if it was caused by the connections. smile.gif

i don't understand what u guys talking about sync> gallery..

does it mean all picture we saved/taken in SGS2 will automatically sync to the internet?
*
It probably gotta do with the Gallery resolving your photo location based on the GPS tag saved in the photo.

SNS stands for "Simple Notification Service".

You are getting your contacts sync'ed with other services where you are not allowed to edit the info from your phone itself.

The services mentioned includes, not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and so on.
