I can confirm that the so-called album is a fake copy. Hell, I also posted the fake tracklist days ago... doh.gif If you need any proof, you can compare the song, What I've Done from the fake copy with the 30 second teaser ones...you can see that both tracks
are completely different.... ohmy.gif

QUOTE(eric84cool @ Mar 24 2007, 12:39 AM)
emmm......the song still can't hit my nerves yet....anybody do have longer length for this track??
*
Nope. LP has so far managed to keep their highly anticipated album from leaking one too many holes... notworthy.gif

Hmm, not offensive but can call me kiamsap ? hmm.gif

Did I once mention before that I wanted to download the whole album for free from the Net?

I'm just like everyone here waiting with bated breath for their first single to come out and I just came across another preview version which I just wanted to share with everyone here, but yet you judge me oh-so-easily by saying I'm not a fan of LP and that I'm listening for free? shakehead.gif

Anyway, I'm not that free to surf the Net the past couple of days, so.....here's the link >>>>2nd Version<<<< sleep.gif

Wow, awesome video of 9/11, penguins, oil slicks, Nazi flamethrowers, scorpions, kid with AK47s and so much other stuff (in no particular order) all rolled into one MV.

Awesome. 'Nuff said.

Screenies wink.gif (Don't you think they look more like rock stars now, especially Chester?)

Ahhh well, gotta wait for the HQ of "What I've Done" to be release so I can DL. tongue.gif

In case you didn't notice, it's already leaked....I got it too... wink.gif

Nice song...but a lil slow.. I want the old LP energy! from the hybrid theory
*
Sorry dude, you're out of luck.... laugh.gif

The nu-metal sound is now replaced with something more diverse....but it isn't necessarily a bad thing now, is it? wink.gif

Anyway, let's hold back our judgement until after we heard the whole album, not just the first song.... cool.gif

Dude, I have already pre-ordered the copy la. I understand your frustrations at some of us (me included) but come on, some of us really can't wait. Same question, why don't you wait for Prison Break to be shown on 8TV? tongue.gif

just kidding. don't take it personally or anything.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Yeah, I was thinking the same too....when is the second season of Supernatural coming on?

..........anyway, back on topic, how do y'all think of the guitar solo on 'The Little Things Give You Away' ?

Simply amazing I'd say.... thumbup.gif

Anyway, give Shinoda's singing debut a break....I'm sure he'll either improve it on the next record or rather not sing at all.... laugh.gif

What I think....

Wake - The taste of things to come...

Given Up - A heavy song....sounds like hardcore punk but definitely LP...

Leave Out All The Rest - A light song with meaningful lyrics....nice...they should do more of these songs....

Bleed It Out - Sounds like the LP of old and a little bit of FM lovin' but 10 times better...the guitar is amazing...classic...

Shadow Of The Day - I have to say this is the track that shows how versatile LP has now become....on the first listen, I thought I'm listening to The Fray... laugh.gif

What I've Done - What can I say that hasn't been said...one of the best on this album....a favorite...

Hands Held High - Shinoda single-handedly raps and sings his way to the end on this FM-inspired song. The tune is so haunting and oh-so-patriotic and don't even mention the Amen chant on the background of the song....it gets my vote as my favorite.

No More Sorrow - Another surprising yet an excellent song. The guitar riffs are reminiscent of metal songs and Chester's vocals took this song one step beyond....amazing is all I can say.... cool.gif

Valentine's Day - Perfect for Valentines Day. laugh.gif

In Between - Shinoda's singing dominates the whole song....Not the best but commendable for his efforts alone...

In Pieces - Another defining song on the album. From the haunting instrument at the start of the song to the amazing guitar solo at the middle, this song captivates till the very end...very surprising indeed for LP... thumbup.gif

The Little Things Give You Away - The much-talked about guitar solo is the defining moment in this song although I expected something more phenomenal. A progressive song and a fitting closure song for one of the most mature and diverse LP album to date... wink.gif

All in all, this change is definitely for the better and I love them all the more....

I've never liked LP, in fact I hate them but from what I've heard from fans it seems the new album is a major disappointment. For spiderman and LP fans this week has been a double blow lol.
*
Well, don't listen to the haters....not until you have a listen to the album yourself.
I don't think there's a lot of dissapointment among the LP fans save for some...they can't accept this radical change in their style...maybe there's too much frustrations in this world.... wink.gif

QUOTE(Nostalgia @ May 5 2007, 03:14 PM)
I'm greatly disappointed as well. This new album is a total opposite of what I'm used to hearing from LP. Although they have reiterated that MTM is not going to be categorized in the Nu-Metal genre but I still expected it to have heavier songs than the ones on the album. For me, the only songs which I enjoy is Given Up and No More Sorrow as these 2 are the only ones which had some elements of the old LP. Furthermore, they even omitted the instrumental songs like "Session" and "Cure For The Itch" from MTM. I'm still wondering as to why they decided to change their style this time around because MTM is simply too soft in comparison to their earlier albums.  sad.gif
I'm still getting the album since I've paid the deposit for it. Somehow, I regret pre-ordering the album after listening to the downloaded version.  sad.gif
*
Yes, I can understand your dissapointment that the new album doesn't even remotely meet your expectations but sometimes we gotta let these artists spread their creative wings too just to see what songs they can churn out rather than the same old songs.

Come to think of it, there's a damn lot of artists who are changing their brand of music like Avril Lavigne and Good Charlotte... hmm.gif

Oh well.... cool.gif

looks like LP trying to be emo in this new album .. i personally hope for "future " sounds just like they do like the meteora thingy but this album is kinda a disappointment .. and why didn't they didn't include an album version of Qwerty .
standout tracks will be : valentines day, in pieces and hands held high.

overall : C .

Emo?

I don't know nothing of that sort..... wink.gif

Btw, Chester is featured in a Young Buck song called 'Slow Ya Roll'....

The song is OK but Chester working with Young Buck...? laugh.gif

I am with you here. No one says that we are forced to listen to something we dont like. Fanship is an open door policy. You like, come in. Don't like, go away and come back next time. John Mayer's fanbase has changed dramatically for one. From "bubble gum pop" to "Gravity," fans come and go. It's normal. I am a John Mayer fanboy, do I blast everyone that 'abandons' him? It's normal to praise and critisize. wink.gif
*
Nice one. wink.gif

Luckily, I'm one of those people who are very tolerant of music style changes.... smile.gif

Anyway, the band knows what to do if it goes all horribly wrong for them, not that it's a bad thing... wink.gif

Download now or listen later, we (Nostalgia and myself) both preordered the album, so it's only a matter of time before Nostalgia makes the SAME comment later on.

Added on May 5, 2007, 8:24 pm

Exactly. Big name bands have all fecked up once in their careers. It's only human and normal. No band can have a perfect career. Critisism and praise is part and parcel of it. If the new style works, go on with it. If it doesn't, time to go back to the drawing board.

I tell you, LP and Maroon 5 will have a whole new set of fans this month.

and errr, what "nice one"? the album?

I meant, what a magnificent and thoughtful comment.

Crystal clear now? biggrin.gif

After heard many times, only Given Up, What I've Done and Leave Out All The Rest songs have same style/rhythm like hybrid theory and meteora albums. Anyway, good try from LP. Bleed It Out!!!!! Bleed It Out!!!!!
*
After what you've said, I think LP should do more metal songs like 'No More Sorrow'...they sound incredible.....maybe....you think....?

I still like In Pieces although a lot say its not so good , I don't rate a song based on other comment, own ears are always the truth tongue.gif
*
Fret not, I'm on your side... wink.gif

The song is very progressive, building up very well...with a clever guitar solo near the end.... cool.gif

I remember one of the band members cited Nine Inch Nails as an influence... does this album sound anything like NIN? If there are similarities then I'm willing to give it a listen.

Not even remotely close in similarities... laugh.gif
