Just get the router from CloudComputer, the wifi coverage is unexpectedly good without the external antenna.
Startup is very fast compare with TP-Link. Now need to test whether open whole day will got any prob or not.
Very high recommended seller....any one wan to get UniFi replacement router this might be a better choice

Hi TS, currently I am using Riger DB108-WL Wireless Modem Router given by TM. So far, there is no problem with it however, it takes a longer time to reboot the modem which I am quite annoy with.

So, would TS provide more information about any brand or model of Mikrotik modem which is suitable for me?

PS: I am with the package or RM88 (around 4mbps, which is lying in fact with current speed). And I would like to know about blocking p2p programs with TS' product.

Hi Bro,

To replace your wireless modem router with one device, you need either RB751G-2HnD/RB751U-2HnD.

The RB751G-2HnD is an upgraded version of RB751U-2HnD, it has doubled RAM, new CPU and all five gigabit ports, you can read more details at its official website, http://routerboard.com/RB751G-2HnD.

On Mikrotik router, we does not need to reboot the router for config changes and it is very stable that we ran it for several years in the data center without any reboot.

For your information, there is no effective methods to control encrypted p2p traffic even for high end routers, however if you can restrict the port number using by the p2p software, you can do QoS on the port range.

Please be informed that Mikrotik RB751G-2HnD and RB751U-2HnD are routers, not modem router, so you need a ADSL modem other than the router for Streamyx connection.

Other details have been sent via PM to you! smile.gif

Hi Bro,

Can't really understand what you mean on UniFi id and password, when do you mean?

It's should be the other way around, even 20 torrent users can't slow down this router. tongue.gif

Yes, yes it is good for a 50 users network but not heavy users. The stock router is definitely far away from capable of serving your network, you should change to Mikrotik asap! tongue.gif

Other than this model, you can take a look at http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2377283, it is designed for medium network. smile.gif

You're welcome boss biggrin.gif I configured my Mikrotik router to work on my Maxis home fiber. It's definitely much better compared to the silly Thomson router that was given.
