contacts is easy.  My contacts are sync to gmail - so i just sign in to Note with the same gmail account - all contacts will be there in few minutes after first sync.

now headache to transfer all the apps from Desire HD coz the Note cannot be rooted yet. 

so you got the crystal bits flipcase too. 

or you can try copy phone contacts to google contact then sync to cloud - most reliable way to make sure all the data format are 100% intact.
