neways, I want to take off my ODD and add in an additional HDD with SATA caddy case.

Can anyone tell me wat size caddy case should I buy? is it the 12.7 mm caddy case? Anyone knows wat the dimension of the ODD is?

guys,

it seems that i'm not able to detect the nvidia gt 555m in HWmonitor.. also, when i wanted to disable turbo boost using throttlestop, the option to disable it is grayed out..
I just realize this when i saw screenshots of others n55sf where the nvidia gt 555m shows the temp where as mine did not appear..

i'm using i5 processor, btw..

HWMonitor would only show the nVidia after the nVIdia is ON, you open HWMonitor.

Ok, how do you turn the nvidia on? Isnt it on just as thelaptop starts? TQ

Play games, or can try use OpenHardwareMonitor..
The nVidia isn't ON by default since N45SF/N55Sf is utilizing nVidia Optimus, where it will automaticlaly ON/OFF the nVidia depends on what application you are running currently.

Don't try monitor the nVidia temp during battery, since that would defeats the nVidia Optimus purpose; reducing heat and lengthen battery life..

Clean the connector ?

no, i've check the connector and its still ok.. no traces of dirt or watever.. it could be the windows i installed (windows xdark edition).. plus some of the asus utilities doesnt work (ex splendid utility).. even when i wanted to boot to asus music now, i had to press at least 3 times before i could boot in..

sifus, need advise on somethin..

When i start up my laptop recently, it blinks like 3 times on LED indicator before actually booting in. In batt mode, i had to press the power button 3 times.

its gettin annoyin and if anyone can help me, i'd appreciate it very much..
If possible, sending it to ASUS center would be the last option since i live in Miri and i dun want to be without a laptop for such a period.

u bought from miri where? price? is it the rebrand new model?
*
Bought it at PC Image @ Parkson. Its brand new and bought just a month before Asus included the 750 gb 7200 rpm HDD..

I tried everything even reformating the whole laptop & installing new windows.. Still problem persist.. Even tried installing & restarting the lappy while installing one driver at a time.. I suspect it could be related to the power source but I aint a technician.. just speculation..

Hi everyone!

I just became a new member of this club with my brand spanking new N55SF-DH71 (Loving it!!!)
Just to let everyone know, i'm a PC tech with 16+ years of experience, so if i can help anyone, i'll be more than glad to =)!

Congrats, dude..
Welcome to the club..

PC tech for 16+ yrs? I have an annoying problem wif my N55SF and i wonder if u could help me..

When I wanted to boot up my lappy, it doesnt boot up right away.. It has to blink once on the LED indicator panel, shut down and then begin the process again for 3 times.. After that you can see the Asus screen thus proceeding to windows. This is in A/C mode. If its in Battery mode, I have to press the power button 3 times to really boot up the PC.

Could it be due to the BIOS update from 203 to 207? the first few times after the BIOS update it was still ok..

Could it be a hardware (something to do wif power supply) problem?

Appreciate any help given..
