i need some help on this please, it actually happened on the day i got this laptop itself.
So i thought it might be of the bloatwares and i performed a clean format and still the problem persist.
please help me.
*
Clean format using Windows 7 came with the laptop or unmodified Windows 7?
Is the screen like this after you used the laptop for some time, or happened right after you boot your computer?
Did any specific action only, like playing music trigger this?

PS: try update your nvidia and intel graphic driver to the latest.

Currently not yet, only the WEI assess Intel GPU instead of nVidia, so the score is low.

ive formated using clean win 7 not from the laptop recovery image.
it happen after some time when i listen to music.
frankly speaking hours of music playing while i was doing my work i got shock by the sound and screen change like the picture showned.

im still figuring out what might be the problem,
i recently installed a newer version of realtek driver.
perfomed a memory diagnose,
and check disk for errors.

have any solution to this ?

p/s: i completely remove all the bloatwares in this laptop when i bought it. Thats the first thing i did byt doing a clean format using windows 7 hp 64bit downloaded from microsoft.
*
If it happens:
Check if the computer is hot (abnormally).
Try to tilt the screen back and forth.

Oh ya, can restart solve the problem? And the Realtek Driver is from Asus website or from Realtek?

Try downgrade the Realtek Driver to the original version (from factory) and play music, c if still happens.

PS: It sounded like 'Warranty Time' for me... unsure.gif

*
Agree.. Seems like the laptop already have problem when you buy it. Jz bring back to the shop, show them the video.

Sure. smile.gif
Download the N43SL BIOS from Asus, and then open using 7zip or any archiver.
Find the .wav and .gif file inside those folder. (All random names)
And extract.

That's only if you want the boot sound and animation files for N43SL.

Here's my computer now.. A lot more to do for this smile.gif

Wow....It was amazing!!
I download the latest N43SL BIOS file but I only got a file (N43SLAS.414)
I have no idea how to deal with it....
Can u provide further information on how to modify it??
Thanks~
*
Haha, thanks smile.gif

Did you got 7zip? or any archiver? WinZip, WinRAR......
If got, then right click the BIOS, and find 7zip or 'which one you got', then open archive.
Got a lot of weird naming files in it. Jz go search folder by folder, anything with extension .wav and .gif, and extract them.
Try what you extracted oso, coz they all random named.

(This GIF file cannot be used by FancyStart to make my BIOS boot animation, so I used it for Windows boot animation instead)
If want to make like mine, grab all the 3 N43SL wallpapers oso from Google. smile.gif

1. Start with BIOS boot sound. (Using FancyStart and a video/sound/wav converter)

The .wav file is incompatible with FancyStart, so have to convert using this setting-->PCM,Mono,Bitrate 512 kbps,Sample Rate 32000 Hz,Sample Rate 16 bit
(This settings I found on Youtube. Check out his amazing boot oso smile.gif )

Then after convert add into FancyStart using 'Single' option, and drag the time to 3 seconds.

2. BIOS boot screen (Using FancyStart, Photoshop or any image editing)

I use the pink J image, then change the 'pink' to 'golden' using Photoshop to suit my 'Golden' theme. (optional)
Also added an Intel logo found inside N55SF BIOS (also optional)
Then convert to 1024x768 resolution (may seems stretched, but will look fine later)

And then add using FancyStart, single option

3. Windows Boot Animation, the 'incredible J' animation (Grab the Windows 7 Boot Updater, google it)

The conversion from .gif file to the boot animation file takes a very long process, too long to write here.
Will upload my savefile later, and jz open using the software and Apply.

4. The logon screen (Can use any logon screen changer, or this TweakLogon but I used TuneUp Utilities)

I used the image with Jay Chou's face. I think using this software is easy, though I never used it before.

5. Wallpaper. Jz the same J as BIOS boot screen. smile.gif

I can upload all the modified image and sound later and PM you, so no need to do the photoshop or conversion and no need the BIOS oso.

Sorry for the long step bro.. Hope this helps. Anything jz PM me wink.gif

Update: Here's the fileincredible J.zip
Got 3 ori wallpaper, 1 modded wallpaper, boot sound, 2 boot images, 2 Windows boot animation

Is it possible to request a BIOS from the ASUS engineers to produce a BIOS file which greatly increases the fan speed on the laptop? Configuring the fan speed and these thermal threshold shouldn't be too hard. Anyone?
*
Actually there's no need for faster fan speed, the original BIOS manages it well. And laptop can withstand higher temperature oso.
If you wan, you can modify the BIOS yourself, but I strongly not recommend it. You will tamper the warranty and may get a bricked motherboard.

oh btw.. your lappy is n55 or n45?

actually i agree with u, but it's better to have the fans easilly adjusted using speed fan software. Sometimes i use this laptop for extreme purposes, n my temperature averages at 80+ n sometimes 90+ for cpu.folding at home n doing work at same time.
*
I nearly bought a 15" sleeve, but looks small to me. Cnt find 17" here.. Your 14" one is flexible? Any brand?

I used Speedfan, but no manual fan control for me, only the automatic fan control option.

Excellent! Problem solved.

Anybody know why our keyboard No. 1 and 6 is highlighted, not similar to other numeric button?
Also what is the function of subscript icon at button C,V and Space Bar?
*
Ntg special for 1 and 6, like the up and down

fn+C = change Asus Splendid mode
fn+V = run Asus LifeFrame
fn+Space/MusicNow key at top left = change Asus Power4Gear mode in Windows.

*only if you have them installed smile.gif

I see. I skip installing those bloatware, hence don't know the usage.
Anyhow, I owned HP, Dell, Acer 5920G then to BenQ S57 earlier. And now first time using ASUS.
Would say that built quality is ok, but few design hiccups:
1. Power button close to Del button. Not that great since I am suing Del a lot.
2. additional column of key at left side (for play, pause button, etc..) causing me disoriented during typing shift, tabs etc. This layout is very uncommon. Often I press wrongly and started Windows Media.

Anyone can share your workaround on the above is appreciated.TQ.
*
Actually Power4Gear Hybrid is recommended, it can save some battery life smile.gif

The left media keys are actually harder to press, if you observe closely.
At first the keys will felt bigger than normal. After some usage it worked very smooth, makes my PC keyboard felt smaller.. biggrin.gif

Followed your recommendation - installed power4gear, and I believe it's better power management compared to win7 built-in.

Now installing FIFA12, Assassin Creed - Rev, Dirt 3, MW3, NFS Run, Arkham City. Test power!!
Dunno when can finish all. Definitely not playing game for 2 months due to heavy workload in office now. heh.

Anybody tried OC'ing already? Please share your setting. Tq.
*
ASR, Dirt and MW3 sure no problem on this lappy, maybe not maximum graphics la smile.gif

OCed a bit before, but performance increase really not noticeable.. Good thing is the temp din increase at all after OCed.
