Okay here's the thing. I've spent more than 2000 hours on WoW so far. I've got a geared out (all epics) warlock with full felheart set, with about 10 + epics sitting in bank. Killed ragnaros more than 10 times ,with guildie holding a sulfuras, and up to Ebonroc in BWL. I have about 5000 gold altogether. Yes, we are pretty hardcore, but lack of dedication makes us unable to reach Nefarian. All this happened when i was in UK. (plenty of time you see)

I came back after graduation a month ago. It's not possible to raid with my ex-guild anymore as the times are just not right. Raiding with them means waking up at 5 am everday. I may be able to make it on sundays, but waking up early on sundays to raid ? Dont think so.

So this is what i did. I started a Malaysian guild <Malaysian Superstars> biggrin.gif , so that we can enjoy high level instace raiding at our time. I managed to get friends, friends friends, tier 3 friends, you get the idea, to start. At the moment there are 30 + members, all malaysians! Right now, i need more people coming in so that we can do raiding OUR time.

If you are interested, message me in game , nick is Stee, or just speak to anyone you see with a <Malaysian Superstars> tag. We have our own ventrillo ip address to make raiding easier and our website is on the way. To help out your leveling experience , i will be providing 14 runecloth bags x 4 , and another 10g to start you off.

Join now , <Malaysian Superstars> on Archimonde is going to be the next big thing! Leave a message here or just pm Stee in game for an invite/chat about our guild.

*edit

-The guild is on Alliance side, sorry i missed out on that earlier.
3rd November: We have expanded to 50+ members
17th November: First ZG run attempt
27th November: Guild website up www.my-guild.com
10th December: 2nd attempt, Cleared MC up to 9th boss (majordomo) with no wipes.
20 December: Rag Down
4 Janauary: Eye of Sulfuras!

As of Feb 1 : ** Recruitment is closed**

Also, i will not be updating/ reading this thread anymore. If you have any questions, look me up in archimonde(Stee/Stie/Bank) or send me a private message.

They do have character transfers. Unfortunately, you can't select which realm they transfer you to, they decide it for you. It's pre-determined. So that sucks. Malaysians will never be on the same server until we have our own one.

Raiding is forming a group that consists more than 5 people. End game raiding requires 40 people.

I would like to add that talks are on the way with the guild Catastrophe, a guild also on Archimonde , which consists mainly of Malaysian students studying in Australia, graduating and coming back end of this year (20ish members, including alts) . They will be waiting for the majority of us to hit 60 before we merge. Perhaps we can rename the guild to Malaysian Catastrophe ? o.O

It seems that there are people coming into the server and couldn't get hold of me as i wasn't online. As i am having a 9-6 job at the moment, i will be on usually from 8 onwards. Any other times, feel free to message any member who will guide you to an officer for an invite. At the moment, there are many hardcore members who are usually on the whole day.

Off the top of my head they are Dizfire, Shendelzare, Shamey, Maihime, Jickezz and Mcchen. They will be on from 1pm onwards to about 5 am. Send them a tell for more info about the guild.

Okay, i'll give you guys some info about Archimonde server. Archimonde was the first batch of servers which started the day WoW hit retail. It was meant to be "the place to pvp". The most hardcore guild from iRO, "The Shiny Ones" (now known as harmless) shifted here along with other big pvp guild from Lineage 2.

The most well known guild on the server is Nurfed(www.nurfed.com). They are on the horde side, second on server to down Nefarion. They have their own UI (nurfed UI) and has been very controversial lately due to their mod Nurfed threat(dont know if you read about that case, pretty well known case).

Since i started advertising here, i have had a handful of fellow malaysians joining us .In a weeks time, i will have another 3 friends joining us, starting new as level 1 characters. So if you intend to join as well , now is pretty good time.

As for classes which are needed, we are pretty well balanced at the moment , only shortage being on warlocks. But ill be perfectly honest with you... warlocks suck. sad.gif

I don't mind joining, but not now. I'm having exams for the next few weeks. Currently i have an inactive lvl 60 rogue on Spinebreaker(pvp). Disabled the account due to studies, holiday coming soon. =P

I only experienced end game raid in MC up to majordomo only. BWL, never get pass the first boss yet, i think BWL was bugged first few week from the release. And yes, warlock gameplay is boring. hehe =P

Btw, what latency are you receiving on that server?
*
Yes, BWL was very buggy upon release. Even though vael was downed , we could not get past him as the gates would not open. They used the term cockblocked. Even today, BWL is still experiencing latency issues.

As for the latency on Archimonde, it can vary from 350 to <insert very high figure here> . I did not have any problems in UK, always less than 200 m/s , its just streamyx really. The moment i hear/find an alternative service provider that doesnt lag , i'm gone.

My experience is pretty wierd, furthest I went to in MC is Sulfuron and in BWL Vael. You might ask how can I get to Vael when I only got to Sulfuron, well its a very long story and basically its because I quit the game lol. Will be back if Jaring is good, then I'll hop over to test it out as a priest. What I wanna know tho, is about the NURFED UI issue you mentioned. Got a link? And also I cant see my latency when using this UI. Sorry for hijacking ur thread but hope to get some replies ^^

www.nurfed.com wont really explain what actually happened. There are a lot of posts on it from General threads, as well as Archimonde server itself. Here's the short version of it.

Nurfed is one of the best guilds around in terms of pve accomplishment. They were the first ever to get legendary items. One of the fastest to down rag, and top few to kill nefarian. They have their own UI called Nurfed UI. It was downloadable at www.nurfed.com. Very nice mod , used it for my warlock.

However, they did not release to the public and extra mod they used for themselves. It was called Nurfed_threat. It was a mod developed themselves to handle the aggro in MC/BwL. A tank can see how much aggro is developed when he casts sunder armor, heroic strike, etc. A formula was used, giving specific numbers. Whenever a priest casts greater heal , a certain number would be given , say 2000 threat. Whenever priets fade, a certain amount would be subtracted. This way, they can always see who is on top of the hate list and aggro manage PERFECTLY.

So naturally, people started flaming them for developing this , calling it "easy mode". They defended saying that it's purely mathematical based, no exploit is used, GM didnt give warning , if its exploit , why is it having more than 10k downloads , etc etc.

Thats the rough story. smile.gif

Yup, youre correct. Small and new servers will never make it. People come in, more people comes in, server maybe becomes medium pop, they are all excited, till majority start reaching lvl 60 and then they start whining "dude, there's not enough stuff to buy on AH' , "dude, there's not enough people to get a pvp/battleground game started" , "dude, there's not enough horde/alliance running around for me to pwn"

The biggest MMORPG killer is low population. Avoid. Word of advice smile.gif

I can see server transfers getting implemented for a price tag of 25 USD per char transfer. I guess many people might still pay that amount.

I was making a wild guess. Not exactly a clueless guess, but the thing is that server transfer fee will not be cheap. This is because of the different economy prices in servers.

For example, on Archimonde, large radiant shards is less than 1 gold. Yup less than 1 gold! They cost like 50 silver each if you buy in bulk from farmers. I have about 200 on my alt. They can sell for 6-8 gold each on new servers. Same goes the other way round. Wool cloth is cheap in new realms, because everyone leveling picks them up. Wool is 1.2g a stack on my server, because not many people farms lowbie areas. If the transfer fee is minimal, say USD5, i can go transfer to a new realm , dominating the economy, earn thousands of gold, and continue hopping realm to realm exploiting the price difference.

25 USD? Whoa.. there's no way i would pay that for a character transfer unless I'm really really desperate =P
But... come to think of it, it beats 3x15USD to get epic mount, dal rend swords, knight captain status, and bunch o' other stuff ^^

Oh well, looks like I've gotta think this through. Any rough idea when character transfer is gonna be implemented?

:edit: Oh yeah, just would like to know, care to share what kind of raid system will the guild be running on? Will it be by RP or maybe taking turns on drops? If you have the time, care to elaborate on the system you're gonna be using?
*
I will be using the same program as the raid group i used to run with. It runs on a DKP/point system. It was a written by a friend where it follows the principle of rewarding players who spent more time on raids. A 0 dkp system is used to prevent inflation.

A little confusing at first glance i know, i'll give an example. Say we kill Ragnaros and he drops 4 epics. Different epics have different "prices" on them. If they are better, they are worth more. For simplicity purposes, say all 4 of them are worth 100 point each. So altogether, its 400 points, which means Ragnaros = 400 points.
This 400 points is divided by 40 people , everyone get 10 points for killing ragnaros.

Who gets to loot? The person with higher points have priority. say person A has 250 points , person B has 170 points. A gets to loot it , if he wants. If he does, he has 150 points left, and B will have priority on the next drop , because he has more points than A now (170 points).

Only the first 2-3 runs will we be rolling on epics. It doesn't really matter if you dont win. If someone else rolls higher, he wont be getting loot later anyway, until he has more points.

The program which i will be using, will automatically record the drops, turn them to points, and upload on the web where everyone can check their points and see where they stand.
