The prices are in the first post, have to thank phaser for putting those up smile.gif

OTR prices can vary especially since you determine how much you want to insure your car for as well as how much NCB/NCD you might have to carry forward as well as whether you want to insure your windscreen or not.
For comparison purposes, they should just put the normal OTR prices just like other car manufacturers. Normally ive seen only cars which are seemingly 'overpriced' will not have the insurance included to exude a 'cheaper' initial image. Nobody will take into account windscreen coverage to compare car prices. Just compare using the general items e.g number plates, road tax, registration and insurance. Been done many times in the past and no reason not to be done now.

Prices provided in the VW website includes OTR prices excluding insurance:

Includes the following items:
Road Tax (one year)
Registration Fee
Inspection and Handling Fees
Number Plate
HP Ownership Endorsement Fee

If you want a breakdown of each individual fee per model, I suggest you go to the VW website to find out more.

OTR prices for models here in Malaysia.

Golf 1.4 TSI:  RM156,608.00
Golf GTI: RM211,060.00
Polo Sports: RM114,593.00
Polo GTI (3-door): RM133,608.00
Polo GTI (5-door): RM136,608.00
Scirocco 1.4 TSI: RM189,608.00
Scirocco GT: RM245,060.00
Passat CC Comfortline: RM256,060.00
Passat CC Sport: RM271,060.00
Passat: RM185,967.20
EOS: RM259,060.00
Tiguan: RM238,121.60
Touareg: RM 432,283.20
Jetta: RM150,608.00
Cross Touran: RM167,608.00
Again, I would highlight the point in regards to insurance, your premium is different from others based on your age, what you want covered and also what other add-ons you want and which insurance company you sign up with. If you sign up with Chartis, there is an extra 15% loaded cost on top of any new insurance registered recently.
To create a level playing field for comparisons, the insurance needs to be included. Till now nothing mentioned about the OTR price with insurance.

use the 'search' and type the thing u looking for and press 'enter'

no point babbling here. Mavik was nice enough to put information for you and others reading pleasure.

If you insist of OTR prices from VW...by all mean pls go write to them or go bang table in VW showroom
The pricing without insurance is readily available. There wasnt any issue there. What i was asking for was the cost of insurance. The car prices were already on Page 1 so no reason to repeat that.

And i dont need to write to anybody as well. VW had a separate listing of all insurance prices for each model during their roadshow at Tropicana City Mall. So if they can have separate listings why not put it up for anybody to see? The only reason for this is to show that their cars arent that expensive at first glance. This is called 'misleading the consumer'.

Any consumer who doesn't do their due diligence prior to purchasing a new car... is called a stupid consumer. Plenty of manufacturers include both OTR prices with and without insurance, VW included. You simply have to ask for it.

If anyone isn't bothered to ask, then they're either not interested, or not smart enough.

Thats why im asking now. Got it?

Thanks but I dont really need rough estimates. If i did, i would have calculated it myself. All i was asking is what's the normal (full) insurance premium for each of the models advertised and commented that it should have been displayed along with the OTR prices. I didnt say im gonna go buy a car tomorrow did i? I just wanna make comparisons and yes ive long had the 55% NCD discount. There wasnt any need to launch personal attacks against me. I didnt attack any of u did i? Calling names like stupid surely isnt what i expect from buyers of premium brands like VW. You may think highly of yourself but go check my history of posts and ull be able to roughly know my background. Stop putting yourself high up on a pedestal. I came in here asking simple questions.

then why instigate everyone here, when there doesn't seem to be anyone here from the insurance agency or VW malaysia. isn't time better off calling up vendors or VGM ?
Instigate? How? By asking a simple question? Ru a kid to get worked up just cuz someone asks a simple question? Gosh!

Passat CC Sports 2011 models now being offered with 15K discount and free 3 services. After discount, still about RM263K (OTR with insurance). Interest rate still 2.5%. Was expecting more discounts. Why did they stop the Passat CC Comfort?

Btw, the VW Polo Sedan really looks outdated & bland. sad.gif

Im looking into buying the current Passat CC Turbo as compared to the facelift coming in May 2012. Need some bit of info urgently:

1) Does the facelift CC come with the 7 speed DSG as compared to the current 6 speed?
2) Is the chasis the same? Dimensions?
3) What other changes will there be for the facelift here in Malaysia?
4) Estimated pricing (with insurance)?
5) Heard that VW is offering RM16K discount for the current CC. Any better offers elsewhere?
6) VW's warranty is a 2+3 not a full 5 yrs warranty like the one offered by Kia. What is not covered under the additional 3 yrs warranty?

I totally disagree. The customer has every right to ask a dealer to match the best discount given by another dealer. Doing so is not being cheapskate. Who would pay an extra thousand for the exact same product?

Yes, everybody needs to cari makan but there is no excuse for the SA providing crap service to a customer just because he cannot match or doesn't feel like matching the discount. The customer is buying a continental car costing >100k, and he has every right to expect a minimum standard of service.

If the SA cannot provide good service, then I'm sorry but please tell the SA to find another line of work where customers do not have to see his sour face.
I agree. Nobody buying a high value car is gonna want to give up on more discounts. There is no hard and fast rule against comparing discounts among different showrooms. Even sales ppl go around pretending to be potential buyers just to check out deals offered by other dealerships. Nothing wrong right?

But under no circumstances must any sales person show sour faces or give a crappy service if the customer changes their mind for whatever reason. Ure free to talk behind his back with your colleagues but never display any arrogance or displeasure in front of the customer.

He is posting his comments to warn others of this particular behavior. I think its the right thing to do. Most of us in Malaysia are afraid to demand good service and in that process we allow those in the service industry to trample all over us. I would say this: Shame any sales person who gives crap service to any customer serious or otherwise. They dont deserve any sales with that kind of attitude.

The other day, i was at Quill BMW near TTDI for the 3 Series launch. And it was actually comical to notice that all the sales ppl were only speaking to customers with long sleaved shirts and slacks. I was completely ignored just cuz i was there in a 3 quarters and a t shirt (decent not crappy). I spent about 40mins there and not once did any of the sales ppl even ask me anything. Here i was a serious potential customer who actually had the finances to purchase the car in cash if i wanted to and i was being judged on my clothes and mind you there wasnt like a whole lot of ppl. 40mins would have been sufficient time for any sales reps (there were about 10 of them) to approach me especially since i was seriously checking out the engine, interior, exterior, etc biggrin.gif

It would be silly to compare a passat and a k5. This is really a no brainer thingie, if you had so much cash would u even bother looking at k5? It would be a very silly person to take a kia over a vw....
Having money doesnt mean u gotta spend it. Im looking at long term use and i will explore all options before i make my decision. It may well be a K5 or even a C200 but in the end im sure ill make the right decision as ive done in all my previous investments or expenditure.
