yes the golf TSI gearbox is quite problematic.

but the 6 speed on the MK6 GTI is quite problem free. rarely heard got issues. i guess the 7 speed is just problematic

yeah yours was remapped and the most powerful 1.4 out there somemore.. haha

but even stock ones got issues.... some ppl out there scared to buy VW for this DSG reliability already

there are a lot of 09 registered mk5 that is 08 manufactured, that is the newest mk5 is you can find.

there are some for sale, depends on whether you want stock car or fully mod... got many choices out there. there is a 40k km mileage 09 reg MK5 GTI, for RM14xk only, got mods such as revo remap, intercooler, bodykit etc.

all the VGM units are leather seats except the 09 SE which come with fabric. the recon ones could be fabric or leather depends... im with leather but i think the fabric is nice too, the leather is wrinkled too easily

E90? even the 325i is not as fast as the stock mk5 gti. remap the gti and you will gain 40hp and 80Nm with just ECU tweak.. if speed is your concern la. NVH the e90 is better.

official selling price was RM200,xxx in 2007-2008

yea last manufactured is 2008, but the reg 2009 ones are only start being driven in 2009.. so only 3 years+ on the road.
mk5 for 2005 is 118-125k, last batch 0809 ones is 140-150k.
yes cheapest mk6 with 95k km is rm160k. but if stock still got warranty, unlimited mileage what.

Torque is basically the low end pickup or pulling power. U should see at what rpm the max torque is produced
Most vw cars peak torque is at low rpm, means pickup is very good

Hmm, ok actually there is a graph for these two, but to make it simple we just take the max value.

Only if u rev your car til 4800rpm the city will produce its maximum pulling power aka torque. At much less rpm, say 2k or 3k rpm it produce less, maybe 100 or 120nm

While the jetta, at just 1500rpm all the way until 4500rpm it will produce 240nm, which gives u massive pulling power advantage over city

Why does this happen although city's engine is bigger? Because the city is not turbocharged and/or supercharged unlike the jetta or other vws

this one? nothing low spec about having different color, in fact my mk5 with exterior blue color also has that brown interior it is pretty rare. i think this car is good, low mileage, 100% stock, seems to be taken care by the owner, and good price. it seems to be local spec too

it also has buttons on the steering wheel, some has the older style buttons, some dont have.

needing top up is quite normal, but 1700km being low is way too soon. usually if consume too much got problem inside the engine like the polo GTI issue. got 1 owner had his engine replaced also

haha actually those pics are taken two years ago, the driver seat has some wear now
anyways my 2nd pic is the most correct representation of the color, other pics have their color balance changed.

i can say 90% of the leather come in black, the rest is the rare brown(?) like mine and beige.. also the fabric interlagos seat

it's not necessarily last batch.. and we dont have the choice to pick the interior color too

i see some new mk5 being newly advertised in mudah, one of them shadow blue with brown interior, yr 2008

and then drive a bit, if it gets low after less than 5k or so, then something must be wrong, example piston ring

these issues are more common on polo gti, golf gti no issues on consuming that much for that little mileage.
although highway drives eat more oil than normal drives

no idea what VGM is thinking with that increment

the cc went several price hikes over the last 2 years as well... from 2010 230k, to 260k, now u get 1.8 at 226k.

if golf tsi and gti can increase then good news for current owners, including mk5 owners too

some say vw rivals are to blame for the price hikes.
