There are cases previously (for any cars), due to certain accident, and colour does not match, the insurance company rejected the claim.

Plan to get the 1.8 tsi passat. The difference price ckd and cbu is abt 14k. But they said the ckd is import unit, so what the difference here with cbu unit? So means if get the ckd unit, it will be import unit but with ckd price. Anyone can comment on this?

Can review abt this 1.8 passat? Plan to get for my wife. We already test drive twice.

CKD = Completely Knock Down
CBU = Completely Built Unit

You got it in the other way round, CBU is the imported unit which they imported the whole car.
CKD means they import part by part and assemble locally.
Basically, not much difference, probably there is some build quality differences.

I meant VW declare the cbu unit as ckd. So it means you buy an imported unit with ckd price..this is because VW local factory not yet operation.

Not quite sure how you got that information but DRB-Hicom is indeed building Passat in Pekan since October last year.
This was highlighted during the launch event of the CKD Passat.
Don't think VW or DRB-Hicom would be stupid enough to sell CBU with CKD price. LOL!

I ws told the same from VW at branch 222 and glenmarie. That's what in my mind too, and VW said their factory not completed yet but
I saw the news that VW building passat unit since last year but for internal use only.

That's why I'm confused now...and check anyone here get the same feedback for passat...they said the different is the AP only.

Hmm... If they are really selling CBU with CKD's price, it's definitely a good deal.
Guess it's best to check out with other dealers as well. Try TTDI or Sg besi bro.

really need your help. my dad went and pumped RON95 the other day for my passat and things were good. The next day onwards, i realised that the engine noise is kinda different( louder and doesnt really give a smooth feeling ) when i start the engine. The noise will be there for about a minute or two. Is this noise due to the petrol that i pumped in or is it some engine defect stuff. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like what you are hearing is engine knocking. Let me guess, did you pump Shell Ron95?

Try to avoid pumping from stations that have low traffic. Personally I would prefer Petronas Primax95
