Yup but only slightly due to our humid condition here in this part of the world.

The version we are getting is the 255ps version while the version overseas in cooler climate is rated at 270ps.

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/#/new/golf-gti...gines/overview/
*
that's a pity. a remap should be enough to make it produce 300PS brows.gif but void warranty obviously

QUOTE(r3kahsttub @ Mar 7 2012, 12:17 AM)
Mavik is correct on his statement; I drove a grey import Golf R (wrote about this here) on KL roads and also in Wolfsburg late last year. Those had 270PS and 1-100 sprint was dispatched in 5.5 seconds.
*
envy you man. your videos recently is very nice. no in cam videos of the R eh?

passat CC 3.6 v6... sounds sweet.. 0:40

trashed the Polo Sport at VW balakong just now.. very nice showroom since it's beside an empty highway.. i think the acceleration is slightly lesser than the non sport version. but still great. on the highway it runs out of breath a little bit compared to its bigger bros with more HP. my aunt ordered one

i dont think the Malaysian R-Line one comes with quad right?  hmm.gif

may sound different if it doesnt...

this is definitely not the stock ones. passat CC r line is very subtle. two exhausts only

Need some advise here regarding golf's tyre

What is the most optimum size change for stock rim?i did some calculation myself (via those online calculator of course) seems like 205/50/R16 is the best alternative and 2nd choice would be 205/55/R16

For both sizes in term of performance category i only know of these 2 product which are available.
1. Michelin PS 3
2. GY Directional 5

I am using GY Asy 2 on another ride and would love to have it on the golf but sadly the size starts from 17" onwards which is why i am looking at Directional 5.
*
Ps3 should be better than GYD5.

QUOTE(doncityz @ Apr 2 2012, 04:23 PM)
I damn stim the VW Jetta... u think is good choice or not over say, Kemli?
*
Is it jetta or passat similar price to camry? drivetrainwise these VWs will tapao camry new and old model for sure. even 2012 camry 2.0 will use 4 speed auto. and still stick to the unspectacular but proven 2.0NA engine.

QUOTE(doncityz @ Apr 2 2012, 06:19 PM)
LOL. So lansi just after driving a Civic 1.8L.
U think u civic so big ah?

any 1 can advise with what's the engine difference between MK5 GTI 2008 vs MK6 GTI 2011?

Planning to get a 2nd hand GTI. What are the DOs and DONTs? No experience in getting a used car...
*
QUOTE(zenix @ Apr 3 2012, 05:45 PM)
so mavik the MK5 has more moddy bits for it while the mk6 (at the moment) doesn't have many tuner bits?
*
there are a lot of MK5 used that has been heavily modified(ie remap/intake/downpipe etc), as for the MK6 it has 5 year warranty so it would be a waste to mod/remap since the warranty is very long. but that doesnt stop mk6 owners from remapping their car. from what ive seen both mk5 and mk6 are very tunable anyways

QUOTE(Mavik @ Apr 3 2012, 05:57 PM)
Rising Blue is an available option colour for the 1.4 Roc, as well as the 2.0 Roc here in Malaysia. Very rare would someone want to grey import in the 1.4 Roc. Very low margins to make.
Not really, both as equally amount of mods to play with especially since the EA888 engine has been out for a while now. Just that the Mk6 will give you a bit more power as well as I prefer the interior of the Mk6 over the Mk5
*
the interior of the mk6 is indeed a level above mk5..

im thinking of remapping my mk5 but i am also thinking if i just sell my stock mk5 and buy a fully modded mk5 with roughly the same price id save a lot of money, although i won't be experiencing the car's improvement bit by bit after the mods

i wonder how the RCD500(if im not wrong) on the MK5 is comparable to RCD210/310 featurewise?
does the 210 and 310 support USB? if 210 has more features than 500 than ill consider changing since there are tonnes of unused ones from upgrading polo/golf tsi owners

yeah
i think so

the exterior=much more exotic.less cute, more masculine compare to beetle 2011

interior=needless to say.way better than the simple, monotonous polo

spec wise, then engine and such, just almost same hmm.gif

ehh??

really?wow..that....expensive sweat.gif

expensive is it?
previous beetle is RM200k right? that is powered by a much less powerful engine.

Interested to get a Polo GTI for my wife but they didn't have any unit available to test. So I tested the Polo Sport. I tried to push it a bit, but the suspension is a bit soft, feels like I'm on a boat or something. I wonder how's the suspension of the Polo GTI. Anyone has a clue? Wife saw the Passat and seems to like it. But I doubt she can handle the size of that thing. Passat has no reverse camera right?
*
changing from your bimmer already?.. make sure test everything.. if not regret again tongue.gif
do you regret selling your mk6?

i have a savvy as well, i know the solution to the hard to start problem.. wanna know? or you could keep it more spoil to that your mom will approve the polo or golf haha

Hi guys,

The VW Passat in the advertisement is way nice compared to the one fitted to the car sold in Malaysia. Is it possible to get the rim (i.e. in the advertisement) anywhere?

Thanks!
*
Not to sure where you can get the rims.
but don't be surprised in 1-2 years time if they will release an SE version with similar features on the ads

No lah.. I don't regret selling the Mk6 because I got a good price for it. The Polo GTI is for my wife. I plan to 'curi' drive it once in a while, that's why it will be the Polo GTI and not the Polo Sport. biggrin.gif  Now have to hand in the cheque to the SA and "tunggu nasib". Wait and see if there are anyone who cancel their booking. Which do you think is better, 3 or 5doors? Hmmm..... 3 door sounds more fun but I'm sure my wife would like the 5 door version.
*
i see, the bimmer is staying? nowadays can see a lot of polo gtis on the road.. nice car, never test driven one yet, too limited.... u have kids? 5 doors then.. the 5 door is more expensive slightly

Golf is more suited for 4 people only for comfort sitting. If 5 (or 6, which I manage to squeeze during lunch  tongue.gif ), it's just for very short trip like 10-20 minutes or few km.
The person who sits in middle rear, have to spread-eagle (kangkang  laugh.gif  ). Not good for ladies.

i've collected my car on wednesday but i've been too busy with work to update here.

well, the 1st thing that i did after collecting my car is putting on a new plate number
since the original one was too big and it looked ugly.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

and 8 hours later i was stopped at a jpj roadblock  sweat.gif
luckily the jpj guy let me go after i slowtalked with him.
but i still need to redo the plate number because this one is obviously gonna get me caught by the jpjs again.

this is some photos of my car that i snap just now  smile.gif

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

something really bad happened to me just now, i had an accident!  cry.gif
although not so serious but an accident is still an accident.
i hit a divider and scratched one of my rims really bad while avoiding from a stupid exora that was about to hit me because the driver was looking away while driving.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

but my cousins n friends said i dont need to worry so much i just need to send it to a shop and polish it then the scratches will disappear. is that true? can my rim be saved?  icon_question.gif
*
congrats man that is a very nice plate number. since you are changing to another plate, which one are you changing to? are the original ones the singapore type one?

as for the rims, i painted my denvers before to look like yours, costs RM500 for all 4 tires, if one tire u can get it done at RM125, at YR Auto in Kepong. even some shops in sunway can do that

also u can join this forum for more infos..much more mk6 owners

golf n scirocco, comfortable enough, but not quite as comfy as say camry la. if u are used to civic type r, then VW comfort and refinement is out of this world.

polo also not too bad if u dont mind the space, nice acceleration due to the torque and DSG. tapao my gti last time in highway somemore. sweat.gif
