QUOTE(jasonnn @ Jun 4 2006, 06:37 PM) Just after his shower... Hi, my shih tzu puppy of 4 months died today after being admitted in hospital. He had gas distension and somehow even though the vet said it wasn't life threatening, he died a few hours later. Seems his face turned blue from lack of oxygen and they couldn't revive him. It was only 2 days ago when he was still his cheeky and boisterous self. I'm so devastated..... Obviously the first thing my husband did was to console me and made me promise not to have another pup. But the feeling of emptiness is so great that I can't bear NOT to have another. Is there any recommendation for reputable shih tzu breeders that I can contact? I'm not fussy and need MKA certification; home bred ones do fine. Please let me know. Thanks & Regards Pauline.

QUOTE(jasonnn @ Jun 5 2006, 12:59 PM) Hi Pauline, Sad to hear that yr little Shih Tzu died. Anyway, I would recommend you the place where I've got my Shih Tzu. It's called "Champions Pedigree" in SS15, Subang Jaya. Look for Annie or Gan. They're reputable and a responsible seller. If you need more information, do let me know. Regards, Jason Thanks kimmie and jason! Will try MKA and Champions Pedigree as recommended. Pauline.

Hi Suet, Thanks for the tip but I've gotten myself a shih tzu pup from a home breeder. I went through quite a few and must say that some of them are very knowledgeable. I ended up getting through this home breeder in PJ and even though he doesn't speak English, I found that we had a very comfortable relationship. He was also very upfront about his breeding activity to supplement the household income. They don't come with an MKA cert which isn't that important to me as it's only for companionship. Apparently he could have done so within the stipulated period but felt that would drive the cost upwards. He had another GR litter of 9 pups together with 5 shih tzu litter, and that would be cost him a bomb! Obviously he only registered the GR pups. It may not be good breeder practice I know but that's reality. You cater for different markets and hey, no one pointed the gun at my forehead to buy. Jimbo is a pretty independent male at 8 weeks and had a different disposition compared to my previous one. But I shouldn't be comparing as each individual is different. Here's some pix : Pauline.
