Hiya there such a cute Xiao Zhu u have there!:) i have a shih zhu female named sheba, the most beautiful and smart queen found from the bible.and another one coming soon end of this month a male named solomon.the very wise king and the one that is fond of sheba!:) since sheba is a direct champion line b****;she has ability to learn thing very fast compared to my previous shih tzu.very brave unlike a toy dog.she is more like a guard dog and wont think twice of scolding someone for cheating her or provoke her.sometimes she grumble if someone purposely disturb her.she loves to bite~ so every morning ill make sure ill give a toy so she wont nibble onto me instead.shih tzu are so likeable.so cute and innocent.smart and mostly quiet and very affectionate and also busy body~ and the most greddy dog i have ever seen.few times she ate a treat the long stick without biting and swallow in whole; as the result will hiccup all the way....learned her lesson and do again after awhile..notti fella

Don't get one yet if you don't think can rare.....

Keep shih tzu's hair short... hahaha... shih tzus hair grows forever, will never stay short unless you bring your dog for grooming. Each grooming session may cost RM60 to Rm100 and you gotta bring it once a month to upkeep short fur.

Vet and food, it depends... but keeping a dog.... expect to give out about RM100 a month... that is only small basic expenses.
*
ahahha if u can keep it at rm100 consider very very good...cause shih tzu is a pampered dog.was develop for the queen's pet. and they are demanding sometimes plus fussy on food

i recommend u keep hamster, gerbil or rabbit instead...they can be very good pets.rabbits suprisingly can be trained, play together, come when called, and can recognise its owner..

Hi kimmie,

I'm from usj too!!
Anyway, I send my shih tzu to SS15's Champion Pedigree/House of Groomers (Got huge billboard/signage). Look for Annie; which co-incidentally she was the winner for the best groomer in the recent grooming competition held in sri hartamas' plaza damas.

They do have grooming classes too which you could learn with a fee I think.

cheers,
jason

few more questions!
1) What is MKA in full?
2) What is microchip?
3) Male or female better?
4) What is the price range for shih tzu now?(purebreed)

notworthy.gif
*
1)Malaysia Kennel Association....call them they got list of ppl breeding shih tzu (google them please to get their website)
2)microchip is a chip placed in the skin of the dog so can track who registered the dog in case it went missing
3)male or female no diff.some say female some say male.my personal experince female better; more attentive and caring...but also depends on the personality of dogs just like humans
4)price range with mka rm 800-1500 depends on quality /color /sex

I got an email before... grooming incident I think from that same place Amanda said... the dog was hurt. Bleeding behind the ear... anyway, my friend has stopped grooming his dog there I think coz reliaze they do not clean the grooming tools properly and caused rashes and mange....

Anyway, big grooming places often have a bit of mistakes. Still the best place to groom is at our own home by ourselves.... Well, I know many people prefer to ask someone else to do but then when we do it ourself, we are sure the dog would not be hurt and gets extra attention.

Last time I groom my own shih tzu for 12 years... he never step into groomer's place before hahaha.... but I was old fashion, I only cut using scissors and I groom while sitting on the floor with my dog in between my legs for 2 hours straight. sweat.gif

gosh~~~ my dog knows how to bully me wherever its time to bathe; i gotta lock the door and bathe her...then comes the hard part combing while blowing her hair dry.she would whine and put her paws up moving up and down to block me from combing wherelse my sis or maid does that she wont dare to move sweat.gif how do u do that?

Try and put ur shih tzu on chair when u bath and blow dry him/her.  I'm using that method now and so far so good.  My shih tzu jz sits quietly on the chair when i bath him and also when I blow dry him.  But be sure to keep an eye on him/her jz to prevent him/her from falling off the chair tongue.gif.

MY SHIH TZU IS NOT A SHIH TZU...dont know to explain....he i meant she....aih~~~ just say this la..her mom is a champ and her grandparents are champ.this shih tzu of all shih tzus i rear never outsmart the owner wherelse this is notti sly one bully the softhearted pet lover me~ wooo can jump and not afraid of anything.even bully bigger dogs also... lol but ill try crazymouse idea: fed treats while grooming cause she is gulible
