gave it a miss yesterday evening... the traffic there was sheer madness. actually, comrade jdk, did you collect the fighter aircraft collection? i must say they had some really detailed miniature models of the triplanes and biplanes, including the red baron's fokker dr1.

QUOTE(JDK @ Dec 16 2014, 06:06 PM) I don't collect them,I just bought 1 bi-plane since they are so attractive , actually is a Xmas present from my wife and can only post the pic on X'mas day. They all look like hand made plane. By the way, the exhibition in extended until this Sunday. Happy shopping to you guys. finally saw them last night... and was almost tempted to get one of them coca cola delivery trucks! the planes are nice too... they have this kinda retro feel to them and yes, they do look meticulously handmade and unique. they'll make really good gifts and comrade jdk, your wife has definitely chosen a very appropriate gift for you, i must say. |

QUOTE(JDK @ Dec 17 2014, 05:28 PM) Wingnut, I didn't see the red baron that day. I went there again yesterday, I think they only took out the after I bought mine, some more they gave 20% discount yesterday. By the way, the Red baron's fokker DR1, is it the blue color one? my apologies, comrade jdk... i meant this fighter aircraft collection: fighter aircraft collection. issue #5 had the fokker triplane. QUOTE(limfreelance @ Dec 18 2014, 08:51 AM) finish my commision 1/48 tamiya zero comrade limfreelance... one word: WOW! 1/48 Tamiya zero finish. whole thing very fragile. in order to take out the pilot seat, try to add magnetic strip to the connector between body & wing,....but failed. the wing heavy & the magnet power r weak & unable to support it. It keep falling down. Leaving me no choice but to glue it. the wire cable is make from Hair line. |

QUOTE(strikermac @ Dec 18 2014, 11:20 AM) Last few days ago I finally take out my FOV F-14A Swordsmen, here's a tip... take 3/4 shot from a 25 degree angle above the front of the starboard side. i think that's her best side it really like WingNut talking about the paint job is So I won't take any photo of this one again, it same like WingNut does. by the way, strikermac, your model paintjob also feels powdery or not? anyway... here's possibly the worst ever f14 72 scale ever made: ![]() |

QUOTE(strikermac @ Dec 18 2014, 02:52 PM) Ya... something like that, powdery is true. yup... that's about the best angle to snap that swordsmen, although i would prefer a slightly lower angle. anyway, in all fairness, their f/a18 super hornets are pretty good too...When I put all my aircraft together that F-14A juz won't interest me at all. Even the EM model is better a bit. And sure GainCorp model and HM is better than. But BTW juz this F-14A Swordsmen is a NG, others like CVN and BattleShip was Good. *Edit: Example from FlyingMule FOV F-14A Swordsmen. They also didn't want to take close-up pic. ![]() http://www.flyingmule.com/products/UM-85040 This post has been edited by WingNut: Dec 18 2014, 03:30 PM |

actually if you observe flying mule's site closely, you would notice in pic 5, the screw cover inside the port side air intake is missing and the lousy paint job is most evident in pic 6: 1. jagged sidewinder fins; 2. crack (?) between the dorsal fin and fuselage; 3. smudged aircraft registration; and 4. uneven tailfin.
with regard to the f15, comrade deathsoul is right... fov f15 has no gun port. and another thing, my model had the upper and lower portion of the fuselage in different shades of grey (well, only 2 shades of grey to be exact... not 50 shades. hehe) but their fov f/a18s really class act! oh, and another thing... fov's f15 fitting is a bit off. you can see from flying mules photo the section where the fuselage connects with the radome... the upper and lower parts do not fit well. but the most glaring deficiency across the board for all fov models (including the f/a18s) is the awful paintjob and detailing for the missiles.

out of curiousity (and i know this is a personal preference), would you rather have a high quality plastic model or a low quality diecast for about the same price?

QUOTE(JDK @ Dec 19 2014, 04:11 PM) Deathsoul, do you know whether the loading bay's ram of the FOV Osprey can be open? The one in the other brand, Air Force One the ram can be opened. Probably that is the reason for the price different. My FOV one can only view on X'mas cos' is my Xmas present. looking forward to pics post christmas. keen to see which biplane you got... and also the awesome osprey! i'm taking a break since hm's releasing two f15s next... and got quite a number of incoming sapu-ed from hlj's recent sale (awesome bargains they were at 80% off!).merry christmas and happy holidays! yups... achieved my 20(f)14 target and sure looking forward to 20(f)15 thanks to hm... |

QUOTE(JDK @ Dec 15 2014, 06:14 PM) They are a beauty no doubt they are not as detail ours. They don't have a scale specified but I estimate to be something about 1/32. I really fall for their bi-plane. No regret that I bought one of them. Tomorrow last day, drop and have a look they are very nice collectible. here's a few tri/bi planes from the fighter aircraft collection. they're minuscule at 1/72 scale... but the detailing is awesome. not sure whether they're still any leftover stock for these models though. |

QUOTE(JDK @ Dec 23 2014, 05:08 PM) I didn't see any of these planes. Those I saw are all big scale bi-plane and none of them are fighter plane. I didn't notice any 1/72 fighter if not I will surely buy the red baron. there there, comrade jdk... these aren't from the big bad wolf sale. it's from this fighter aircraft collection: allscript facand if anything, the red baron's face looks absolutely comical in this replica! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY BROTHERS & SISTERS OUT THERE. tell you what, comrade jdk... i'll go check out the fighter aircraft collection "bin" at allscript the next time i'm there and by some amount of luck, there may still be a copy or two of the red baron (and other tri/bi-planes). i'll let you know... |
