strangely... my on topic query on how to drill the hole for the nose antenna went unanswered (although i had more luck on enhancing the panel lines... which i have yet embarked on). anyway, seems like getting a whole set of drill bits for probably this one off job seems like too over.

besides, at the rate hobbymaster is coming out with the many attachments to their recent models without any instructions (read: f-15), this thread may still prove its worth to diecast collectors...

haha... ya la. i think i saw some prior posts asking whether this thread is suitable to post complete die cast models and the answer was in the affirmative. but somehow, the complete die cast models seem to have usurp the modelling aspect of this thread. ok ok... anybody can recommend me where to get a suitable drill for me to drill my die cast model to attach the nose antenna to my su27? i haven't checked the diameter of the antenna, though.

ok ok... didn't stop posting coz i thought it wasn't proper to post in this thread but in all honesty, supply kinda dried up. dunno whether the protests had anything to do with it but my shipment from hk is already in its second week, which is something very rare. the tornado and the russian knights should be on their way... and a couple of cw f14s in 144 scale. i'm keeping my typhoon shipment on hold to see whether i can find anything else that interest me to ship 'em together. will post more pics once the aircraft arrives, bro jdk...

at the rate we're going... lacorun may just decide to open a branch in malaysia! i think i order from them at least once a month. but now that their witty stock is fast depleting, i guess my orders will taper off soon also since i get my hms from local distributors. waiting for my f/a18 diamondbacks and sunliners from them... and probably get the argonauts or something next month.

come to think of it, i gotto follow up with the sellers with regard to my russian knights and firebird (not from lacorun). dunno what happened liao...

i think generally it's cheaper to get the models locally, if it's available. but they're not that much more expensive if you buy them overseas... provided you combine shipment. shipping charges from hkg and jpn are relatively reasonable.

touchwood but so far my items above rm500 also arrived without being detained by customs. only once taxed... but courier collected tax on behalf rather than having to go all the way to customs. i think courier companies provide such service... with the exception of pos malaysia. they'll charge you extra for the service! but you'll still be able to get door to door service... just gotto pay them more.

if u know the process, it's quite fast. not many people collecting parcel at klia customs (beside lcct) but comrade jdk is oku so not mobile. that's why i said don't have to personally go customs... the courier can arrange for the tax collection, either by charging service charge (as in the case of pos malaysia), or as part of their service (i experienced this with tnt).

i would rather support the local supplier... but the problem is their limited selection and their restock takes ages (actually i wonder whether they do restock or not)
