Finally got my Unifi installed on Tuesday, and by yesterday it's working fine. The only disappointing thing is the wireless router as the coverage is poor in my household. End up getting a TP Link wireless router and now the connection is good! Even the download speed is better with average of 4+M. When I was doing testing with the D Link, the max I got is only 3+M only....

QUOTE(yongsim @ Jan 6 2012, 08:48 PM) anyone know wats the price for installation above ceiling? the picture price chart confuse me. My above ceiling is about RM600+. It will be around the same price, depending on the additional length needed.

Mine is actually 315, then the additional 300 is the additional cabling...

Anyone of you experiencing broken wifi connection on and off from i Devices? Been using the TP Link router as the replacement from D Link coz the coverage is not enough for my house, but by using the TL-841ND, somehow the connection between my iPad/iPhone sometimes will just went off, and require me to select the SSID again from the wifi setup. Anyone could help?
Previously, I flashed the firmware using KLSeet's method, but since that firmware have some trouble where my SSID just vanished sometimes, I flashed to the newest firmware from TP Link that have Unifi mode. The problem don't occur anymore but just that my iPad/iPhone sometimes will disconnect from the router and need to reconnect again.

QUOTE(zombie24 @ Jan 12 2012, 12:41 AM) im gonna install unifi next week.im living in a double story and the white box for unifi is at the back with the normal telephone/streamyx line.i was wondering if i ask them to tarik the fiber thru the roof and come back in front of my house so the line can come thru around same place as my astro.closer to my tv as my mum already freaking out..she dont wanna see any crappy wht u call it casings for the wire coming from back to front thru house...haha...if i do this would i have to pay like 1000+-...?? Depending on the contractor I guess, but if conceal over the ceiling, I think the starting price is RM315 for 1st 15M. Then from there, additional price for each metre of cabling...

Very excited as my office will finally installed Unifi. My house just installed last month.
Wanted to ask if for Biz, do they provide a different router? I'm afraid if standard D Link, then the coverage around my office will be weak.

QUOTE(rattan @ Jan 12 2012, 07:03 PM) Depends, most of time they provide DLINK. If your office alot of wireless users, I strongly recommend to change the router. What router would you recommend changing?

QUOTE(the100308 @ Jan 13 2012, 09:40 AM) For smartphone is it you have to set from 20/40MHz auto to 20MHz only? saw this in some post. BTW, my desktop using cheapo ProLink WN2001 USB dongle, does that support UNIFI? Just for reference, I've changed the setting recently from Auto to 20MHz and so far it's been working alright on my iPhone/iPad. Will keep on monitoring and report if there's any issue.
