Hi guys, just got my VIP5 installed.
1 bug though, the IPTV freezes after a few minutes, and I have to change channels to get it running again. Internet and phone still work. Anything I can do, or do I have to contact TM?
Thanks for any help or advice...

QUOTE(Edison83 @ Nov 16 2011, 05:06 PM) I just have my unifi line setup this morning, everything fine but the phone, every time i try to call i get "busy"tone, I even try to call my handphone and others, all busy tone I didnt test out the phone when the TM tech was here though. Need time for my line to activate? or do i miss some setting on the phone? Actually, for all to note, the Unifi website states very clearly the Unifi installer MUST test all the triple-play services during installation. That means internet, telephone and IPTV must all be working before he can leave. That's also why they insist you must have a TV set around for installation.

QUOTE(okf987 @ Nov 16 2011, 06:38 PM) TV set as in a TV that can support Hypptv? or can just use an old one? Any TV with AV-in will do. If normal CRT, they connect the yellow-red-white cable, if LCD/plasma they plug in the HDMI.

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ Nov 18 2011, 01:01 PM) If you don't mind to pull network & tel cable from family hall to downstairs, you can just leave the BTU at upstairs and everything else downstairs. You can ask a wireman to pull the cables for you or DIY. Or you can use a homeplug (TP-Link/Aztech/etc.) to connect the BTU (or modem) upstairs to the router and stb downstairs. The phone will remain upstairs, but it's wireless anyway.

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Nov 23 2011, 10:26 AM) Anyone know if UniFi throttles VPN connection? Office just got UniFi Biz 20, but employee in office complain that they are not seeing any speed improvement even though stability improved. At first I was thinking it was because our line is shared among almost 200 employees and there's a bottleneck somewhere between our office and SEA datacenter in Singapore, but then I keep looking at the speed and feel that it's weird that the speed matches what I get when I VPN into US to watch Hulu from home (I'm using UniFi VIP 20 at home)? Our office network infrastructure is that we must have a permanent L2TP/IPSec VPN connection to datacenter. What connection did you use before Biz20?

QUOTE(kingsora @ Nov 23 2011, 03:07 PM) Hey guys, i just installed my unifi VIP 5 today. However i try all the methods available to obtain the password for my router and its not working. Is it easier for me to just call TM ? Didn't you get the id and pw when they installed? It is what you selected when you registered. Otherwise you may have to contact TM to reset the pw.

QUOTE(dollymaniac @ Nov 24 2011, 11:03 AM) U gotta go to tm point to terminate ! Actually, in my case, they terminated automatically. About 1 week after installing Unifi, I saw my ADSL light out on the Streamyx modem, I called 100 and they confirmed the Streamyx already terminated, as per my request when I applied online.

QUOTE(Steel Up @ Dec 1 2011, 02:13 PM) Hey guys, I'll be getting my VIP 5 tomorrow. I've been reading horror stories about TMnet's stock routers, so I wanna ask ; can I just pick any of KLseet's recommended routers? Planning to buy W8960N since no customization is required. Or are there better routers? The w8960n is an adsl modem cum wifi router, recommended to use if you already have it due to being on streamyx. Otherwise, get one of the other models...

Anyone having speed problems to UK? Speedtest to TMNet is steady at 5 Mbps but Skype to UK is crap! And Speedtest to UK won't even start after the ping!
