A few questions. vip5 package. Installed 1week ago
1) speed was excellent during the days buy after midnite it drops to ~100-120kbps. Resumes about noon. But past 1 day constant slow speed. Speedtest is normal. 2) Dir-615 router could be the problem? Which I doubt. |

QUOTE(mekboyz @ Nov 25 2011, 08:37 PM) 1. Yes i had the same problem. nothing to do with the time of the day. Its caused by your dlink router hanging after being on for so long. Last time i dl torrent/ddl with max speed the whole day, and by midnight or so the speed drastically drops. You can reset both the black btu and dlink router you should get back your speed. Tried resetting a couple of times....thought it was IP range problem. Still no change...slow speed. Manage to get unto 2XX range...speed was worse...din even hit 90kbps. if this persists...will call to complain? (lol...complain to them is like yelling at a wall)2. Yes. dir-615 is a crappy router Klseet's website has great alternatives. Im using tplink wr841n currently. I can leave my modem on for days without any drop in speed Tplink: http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...e&id=7&Itemid=6 Complete list: http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...id=42&Itemid=39 Yeah...intending to get a 1043nd router. |

QUOTE(mekboyz @ Nov 26 2011, 01:22 AM) i think should take latest firmware kinda obvious need to reset modem..reset means you must reset the black huawei btu also. not just the dir615.. QUOTE(daniel_lyw @ Nov 26 2011, 01:24 AM) i just get TM to install VIP5 package today yey! are there any other non N wireless device connected? ANY G device that's connected to yur network will make yur other N device connect in G mode. but there seems to be a problem.. the router stated it has a wireless N signal but no matter how i i tried i cant get connected to the wireless N signal, always stuck with 54mbps which is G signal can anyone advice? thank you Disable other devices and try with only n device to check. |

Each time i do the speedtest, the download doesn't move and suddenly it surges or spikes. Shown here circled in the screenshot. does anyone get the same response?
EDIT: the speed i get is caused by background downloading. usually around 4.75Mbps...but actual download with Filesonic is terrible now...about 100ish kbps. This post has been edited by WildChai: Nov 27 2011, 05:48 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |
