QUOTE(klseet @ Jan 2 2012, 01:34 PM)
If you flash Atheros (eg, the TL-WR841ND) or Ralink chip to dd-wrt, you can only create 1 vlan-tag only, meaning it's only Vlan.500 (internet) workable.

Also bear in mind not all Atheros & Ralink chip, i remember i can't get the vlan.500 work on TL-WR1043ND on dd-wrt.  Try to use the latest dd-wrt build for TL-WR841ND, it should be able to create vlanX.500

For Broadcom on dd-wrt, can create multiple vlans at port-level, however it can't handle vlan ID more than 15. Previously I tried on some Broadcom routers (eg, WHR-HP-G54, RT-N12, etc), can't even get the vlanX.500 to work ....  sweat.gif

I haven't play with dd-wrt for quite sometime already, you may try since they released few builds recently:
ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2011/

Btw, Rizvanrp manage to get both vlan.500 & 600 works on OpenWRT RC6 for TL-WR941ND:
http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...=129&Itemid=114
(use his config file !)
*
will try my luck to configure and play with it..
yup true, i cant add vlan with ddwrt firmware.. maybe wrongly firmware..
iptv still need to use dir-615 if i flash my tplink841 to ddwrt..
will try the latest release 1st.. if still cant add more vlan, i'll stick to ur firmware then.. thanx for the reply sir..

I think klseet included guide on DDWRT for 841ND on his site. It can't be used for UniFi +IPTV. Only openwrt on 1043 can do this. I'm not very sure. Forgot d
*
ya follow klseet guide.. but maybe wrong firmware upgrade.. cant even add vlan hahaha.. will flash to new release 1st.. for 841ND, only can use for Internet.. no IPTV.. need to bridge it to DIR615 if wanna use IPTV.. nevermind, will play with it now.. lucky have DIR615 as backup if shit happens hahahaha..

hi, im unifi wannabe user, the installation will set on this friday, and may i ask if anyone here who before this subscribed to astro, did you deactivate it after u got the unifi on or continue subscribing it?i need opinion in terms of is it worthy to deactivate astro and just watch what the channels that unifi package provided?
*
welcome to Unifi in advanced
i think not worth it if u terminate astro coz unifi channel are not a WOW channel like astro have
dont deactivate astro 1st, see urself 1st with Hypptv.. if u feel Hypptv better than astro, its ur choice..

QUOTE(klseet @ Jan 2 2012, 04:10 PM)
Which dd-wrt version are you using?
I remembered those builds since in earlier 2011 the vlan is broken can't create vlanX.500 properly.

Assuming your is TL-WR841ND V7.x, if you prefer older build, try to use Dec'10 build:
ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V...k_tl-wr841ndv7/
or the latest Dec'11 build:
ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V...k_tl-wr841ndv7/

The steps to create vlanX.500 is important, please refer to the following again:
http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...id=72&Itemid=68
connect the 841's WAN to the BTU/VDSL2 LANport 1

For IPTV, you may need to:
1. login to the DIR-615, set the PPPoE (vlan.500) to manual or even disable it
2. connect the 615's WAN port to the BTU/VDSL2 LANport2

Meaning the DIR-615 only take vlan.600 IPTV traffic from the BTU/VDLS2, whereas the dd-wrt will take vlan.500 for internet, it should just work fine nod.gif !
*
im using the latest release sir..
everything works perfect but the most annoying part is i realized the ping lost to the router after 15 to 20 reply and the router is about dead/no response in about 5 to 10secs.. this only happened with dd-wrt firmware..
the iptv setup is exactly like what u've wrote up there..

anyway, thanks for the guide on ur web sir.. gonna change and try 1043ND pulak next week..

just got the tp link wr841n router but for some reason it just wouldn't work. My unifi username and password is correct but for some reason it is still "connecting".
*
is ur firmware have 2 option at the Network module?
1. PPPoE
2. Unifi Mode

if yes, click Unifi Mode again and save.. the router will reboot and hopefully reconnect back..
mine also like that, but the latest firmware that shop already flash in it has 2 option for PPPoE/Russia
1 for normal PPPoE and another 1 Unifi Mode.. its abit hard if i reboot the modem, i need to set to Unifi Mode back normally so that i can connected.. until yesterday, i flashed it to klseet firmware.. and no more need to reset the PPPoE Mode again..

but if u're using klseet firmware, i think theres some error or maybe at Unifi side problem?

Added on January 6, 2012, 10:17 amhaiya.. not lucky yesterday.. think of buying 1043ND yesterday at lowyat..

Oo... Got such thing? I don't need to do that wor... BTW, remember to backup the settings so you can restore everytime you hard reset it. nod.gif
*
got lor.. the firmware version seems newer than klseet site and just try plug n play.. seems to be fine until the 19th days online i reboot the router and the system log shows the same like jimmy G logs..
so i found out its the PPPoE is the culprite because everytime i reboot the router, its defaultly set to standard PPPoE Mode.. not defaultly set to Unifi Mode..

guys, just bought 1043ND to try out after amonth using 841N.. everything ok but the LAN speed..
if i direct LAN cable from PC to 1043ND, the speed can read 1gbps..
if using switch (the switch support 10/100/1000 speed), the speed only read 100..
but my sister PC also direct to 1043ND and the speed also 100.. the NIC support 10/100/1000 too.. weird huh?

Have you checked your cables? Try another one. I've got two 10m Cat 5e cables and one will always give me 100mbps while the other, 1000mbps, from the same PC to the same switch.
now i know the culprit.. its my driver.. even the driver said 10/100/1000Mbps, but its only support 100Mbps only.. Atheros L1 driver.. still searching for solution online.. anyway, thanks sir..
