Just got my unifi installed...5 of the contractors to came to install for me, and as expected, TM forgot to set the jumpers. Took them 2 hours to get everything up and running.
Now... is it better that I change my unifi login password immediately? |

QUOTE(rattan @ Jan 11 2012, 05:17 PM) surprisingly yesterday one of my customer also had same issue. TM forgot to jumper. But thank god I got kaki, manage to sort it out within 15 minutes. Mine is penang. The contractor kena a few times already......he said he's quite pissed off at TM cuz they couldnt complete installation for a few places, so no commission for them.Yes, better change immediately. Btw, where yr location ? In the Orange TM router user guide, it states that the usb port on the DIR-615 supports SharePort, so you can automatically share you printer or usb storage on the network. Anyone verified this? How to change? Go to myUnifi to change? I asked the contractor on how to change the password, he told me have to call unifi to change it, i cant change it manually....ask me y i wan to change....i told him i wan to use unifi email, of course i have to change the pw. |

QUOTE(rattan @ Jan 11 2012, 07:01 PM) Yes you can use the id at TM Wifi zones. Sure, I checked the router's manual, it says you can connect storage devices, scanners or printers to it and it should work. The USB port has only been good charger for me. Charge my SGS2 with it. lolz Do let us know if it works. Thing is, I need to figure out how to install it myself |

QUOTE(rattan @ Jan 11 2012, 07:07 PM) that's what the manual says, no one here bothered trying... haha Ok. I'm thinking of just using my dlink as a VLan bridge, while the routing and dhcp server is on the Streamyx dlink router....thinking if its possible. I feel that the current DLink 615 is pretty overloaded.I tested it on the Asus router and USB thumb drives and also NAS works. Didnt try it on the DLINK. Keep us posted on progress. I plan to get the Asus 56U if the dlink 615 is really that bad as they say it is. |

QUOTE(otosan @ Jan 12 2012, 12:36 PM) hi, anybody here know how to set up the static ip for unifibiz user? last time the guy that install my unifi didn't set up the static ip (which is actually privillege for biz user) and leave my connection just like home user, so i also got dynamic ip. =.= why i want to use static? because i want to access my router remotely from home, so i can turn off the wifi at night when nobody use it at office. QUOTE(Alexdino @ Jan 12 2012, 02:32 PM) thanks bro. ur router must support 3 digit vlan tagging in order to support iptv...one more thing if i purchase a new router replace tmdlink, still can support IPTV? |

QUOTE(prasys @ Jan 12 2012, 04:07 PM) Depending. I asked them to pull LAN cable from up to down my house . So those are some additional costs which involved on top of the normal fees. If just LAN cable extensions, no need to pay. The charges will be billed in your unifi bill. The charges will be according to the extra length that is required.Edit : I can't comment on apartments , this is for landed property If you need to drill extra hole, lay cable over ceiling etc, u pay direct to contractor. this was what I was told my the TM sales person who called me to confirm my order... For apartment its best you prepare your extension cables, and LAN cables everything before they come up. the starting point for apartment will be at where ur phone port is. For my installation case, 5 of them came in a SLK to install for me. Took them 2 hours... I do notice that the unifi installers are better and more professional compared to streamyx installers. They even asked me if i want to join them for makan after the installation This post has been edited by SnoWFisH: Jan 12 2012, 04:12 PM |

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Jan 12 2012, 10:46 PM) No need to shoot. I teach you. I did all that already, including installing D-Link SharePort Utility. I also read through every single page in the manual and the box as well in the case i missed something (spent 2 whole nights until 4-5am trying to get it to work).Go google D-link Share Port. Download the software. Install it. And you're good to go. Do check that sometimes your firewall/anti virus will prevent you from detecting the device connected to the USB port. Btw, all these are mentioned in the manual given in the box. I think you never care to check the box. If I'm the one you called, I shoot you back Firewall all semua off. I tried puting in thumb drive, printer, External HDD, the shareport utility couldn't detect. Even followed step by step instruction in the dlink website tutorial for shareport as well. The only thing I did not touch was the 615's firmware. IT should be having the latest version of 7.09 now right? I did not update the firmware of the router with the latest version in dlink website... |
