Interesting thing i found out.

SNSD's debut Japanese album never left the top 10 of Oricon charts from June-Sept.

June - 2nd, July - 7th, August - 10th, September -10th

Oct - 24th

that's really something..

virtualdub(capture frame)>photoscape(make gif)>cs5(edit)
u can also use "grab" function on ffdshow to capture frame.

except cs5(photoshop), other 2 is free.
for making gif alone, photoscape is suffice, but to get optimal size, resolution and color combination u need to use cs5(afaik).
