I'm in the process on selling my sk17i to get SGW. The reason is, the screen is too small for my thumb.
My sk17i will last up to three days if not using data plan or wifi and minimum call/sms (20minutes & 50sms average per day). I'm calling all SGW user that do not use data plan or wifi , how long does the phone last?

Besides the physical keyboard, does SGW have disadvantages over sk17i?

im not using any data plan *yet* .. my battery can last for 26hours++ .. i only play games for a while.. using camera .. and sometimes some free wifi ..

ok thanks,

how about smart dialing? This does not feature in sk17i but you can add it from market? SGS 2 got this feature, wonder if SGW had it as well. And how about auto focus in video recording, does it have continues auto focus?

no because galaxy w doesn't have ambient light sensor
*
Are you sure no ambient light sensor?
According to gsmarena
QUOTE(www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_w_i8150-review-635p2.php)
gsmarena]
...a video-call camera is right next to the earpiece above the display. There are also a couple of hidden sensors there: one for proximity and another one for ambient lighting.

Samsung is being sued everywhere regarding patent copyright dispute, no wonder if they want to produce Gorilla Glass quality screen for themselves.
If they truly using Gorilla Glass quality screen in SGW, then surely the benefits goes to us, the users. rclxms.gif

Now the term "Good Thing With Cheap Price" achieved by Samsung. rclxms.gif

the only drawback of W is the storage. u get 1.04gb on internal storage. and 1.7gb sdcard storage. some people might confuse the sdcard storage is the sdcard u bought. but not. the sdcard storage is internal.u cant change that and even. the sdcard u bought is named external_sd on this device.so no matter how big u bought, such as 16gb or 32gb.. u are only able to store music, videos, pics, documents inside it. all your application is limited to 1.7gb sdcard storage and 1.04gb internal storage.and app2sd also will not move your app to external_sd

solved by mount bind in my previous post. I can now map any folder in /sdcard into external sd. App won't know the difference since it similar to soft link.

Is this problem happen to every android phone? Or is only happen to Samsung, micro-sd card become the 3rd storage(correct me if i wrong).

yupe.. because SGW sd card is 3rd storage .. so unable to install a lot of high end games .. (unless u r**ted the phone la)  rclxms.gif

so for me dont need to buy 16gb sdcard .. 8gb ok already .. but still SGW is a worthy androidphone for below 1k .. what u expect for below 1k right .. hehehe!!~ icon_rolleyes.gif

How about video recording performance for SGW? It lacks of continuous auto focus in video recording. How is the quality, does it bothered you? I'm asking because gsmarena really took a long time to release review for this model. Phone arena only did a short review.

First was the Ace, now the W. Samsung really knows how to pack cheap but good phones, that's why it's so hot. wub.gif

Ace launched price was similar to W a few months back rite? I wonder if W price will go down fast? Do u think they will reduced the price next month for Christmas Promotion? Its hurt u know when u buy now then within less than a month the price get cheaper..

phone price drops fast...nothing we can do about it...i bought was rm900...now rm859 can find already...but if u really concern about the phone price value then better get htc as their phone price drops very slow & little  laugh.gif
*
Except for ChaCha, launched price above 1k, now can get below rm700, ha..ha...
I need to survey local phone shop for SGW and not rely on big shop like Senq. Maybe can get cheaper price... tongue.gif
