Just bought this phone yesterday for RM866 at SS15..so far so good since previously i am using HTC Wildfire 1st Gen..so obviously i can see the diff on the performance..

The main concern for me now is i can't install Papago X5 into my phone..i tried many times but it will hang when the transfer reach VoiceEn folder..I googled and found that not all 2.3.5 ver can use Papago..

Anybody here can share their experience on this? Thanks in advance.

Is it from DirectD? In Mudah the price is 888, now less RM20! Very tempting!!!!

Sorry typo..i bought it at RM886 from this shop

http://www.mudah.my/New+Samsung+Galaxy+W+i...FT-12252453.htm

Only got a pouch since the SP not available yet..the price is for phone only..the seller registered my warranty and i received an sms from Samsung less than 2 hours time..still searching for Papago expert..tongue.gif

donut82: u figured out papago do let me know. thanks~ but a lot ppl here said can't install at external sd. rclxub.gif

I am not that good in hacking Papago..hihi..yes it can't be install at external sd and internal storage..from my experience, both methods will hang during transferring the 'VoiceEn' folder..

I called this company, http://support.m3gps.com and they told me Papago not supported for 2.3 OS..only up to 2.2 OS..so now need to use my wife Wildfire to navigate..tongue.gif

this might make sense, my wife is always on 2G / GSM mode only, so maybe could try on 2G/GSM mode if not already in that mode and see if got difference?
*
i am a bit confuse with this GSM/WCMDA thingy..my phone network mode is GSM/WCDMA (Auto mode)..just wondering if i change it to GSM only will it affect my data coverage etc?

If you're using Data Plan, don't switch it to GSM only else you'll be bound to use Edge (Max 200++kbps) or GPRS (Max 56kbps) Not very sure on the speed, not quite remember but around there la... If not using Data Plan only switch it to GSM only.

Thanks for the info.. thumbup.gif

from 8.30am until 4.30pm..battery from full charged now only 28% left..battery drain quite fast compared to my wildfire 1st Gen..both on Data connection, sync etc..my wildfire will last more than 12 hours without any battery saver apps..quite disappointed with this SW..

I am wondering how some of SW users can make their battery tahan..

you're either using 3G turned on / wifi / GPS / bluetooth left turned on. my wife's SGW didnt charge for 1 day still left 64% yesterday. Of course she just use for normal call and sms.
*
thanks bro for the info. Yup you are right, both on 3G active mode..just want to share my experience using this phone and compare it with my wildfire which it can stay longer than SGW..my wife told me 'all canggih phone kuat makan bateri'.. whistling.gif

I do some googling on HTC Desire S, same issue on the battery life. Hopefully there will be a battery with higher capacity for SGW soon. rclxms.gif

hi my SGW bro, does anyone figure out why some of the galaxy w's battery life is good and some is bad? my battery life is not so good sad.gif
overnight idling in flight mode could used 3% , is it normal?
*
Pius, you can refer to the previous posts..battery life is depending on how u manage your phone..activate your Data connection, GPS, Wifi etc can drain your battery life..some of our frens here change their connection to GSM and deactivate unnecessary things. For me i use to activate my Data connection 24/7 so since i bought SGW, my battery can last for 8-9 hours after fully charged.

Juice Defender aps is cool..The 15 minutes interval setting helps a lot..FB, few calls, SMSes, checking emails..from 7.30am-2.53pm my SGW batt still have 75% of power..nice..

Hey guys. Im new here.

I have just searched the entire thread for any issues regarding mms. But I found nothing.
I hope only I have this problem. I had like 3 looong conversations with Maxis and one with Samsung.

I can seem to send or receive mms. I already did the settings as per Maxis and switched on my data packet (Samsung says we cant receive mms if this is off). But still cant seem to send. Maxis has already reset my sim..

Ermm, can anyone help me out. Thanks..

I tested the MMS just now..working fine on send and receive..my data packet on 24/7..no changes on the settings..u already reset your sim..if on your previous phone this thing didn't happen, maybe you can go back to the seller shop and ask for assistance..

Haha..i knew someone will refer to the back LED flash..i am referring to the 2 spot in front of SGW..if u watch closely, u can see 2 spot on the top left side of SGW..i wonder what is the function of it..
