guys, some seller stated that its only 1 year warranty, does that mean that they does not help u to register online to get that 1 year extra warranty? or isit that the device that they are carrying is not valid for another year of warranty ? because some of them offers 1 year and some of them 2 years.
*
AFAIK, there is no 'register online for 1 year extra warranty' option for Samsung (there is for HTC). It's either 1 year or 2 years (SEP). The registration has to be done by the seller. If Samsung Service Center cannot find your product registration details, they will follow the date on your receipt.

Other than the proc speed, SGS is a better phone than SGW, no? What was the reason you changed from SGS to SGW?

But bear in mind. Even internal memory is high, but gameloft games that cannot install in external sd mean useless. Neo might have low internal but at least can move games to external sd.
because SGW have internal memory, internal SD (/sdcard/) and external sd (/sdcard/externalsd).
but Neo only have internal memory and external SD (/sdcard/). hmm.gif
and when buy gameloft games, data file default save at (/sdcard/), so when come to SGW, unable to install in external sd as directory is different.
Thus higher internal memory compare to Neo also useless.
unless rooting the SGW which most of us dont want. cry.gif

*Correct me if I'm mistake as I HAVEN'T buy SGW yet. tongue.gif
struggling because of new 3 layers of memory structures. ><
*
I dislike Samsung phones with this kind of arrangement. I prefer internal memory + external SD.

So you also think 'wanna take pictures use DSLR'? And all phones should stick with 1.3MP cameras? Come on, phones are not phones anymore, they can do a lot more, be it gaming, taking nice pics, etc.

fyi.. this is my chat with the samsung guy from lowyat... most resellers will give 1 yr... the samsung center in pyramid is 18months... the authorised partner is 2yrs... and senq is 3yrs(by senq, not sme)...
*
It's 1 year SME and 2 years SenQ. Don't know what happens during those 2 years. Maybe SenQ send back to SME and absorb the cost? Maybe SenQ young ciku technician experiment with your phone? sweat.gif

agree with CyberKewl. You must bear in mind that new phone from Samsung and LG offer 3 layers memory for phone which is internal memory, internal SD (/mnt/sdcard) and external SD (/mnt/sdcard/external_sd).
where other or old phone have 2 layers which is internal memory and external SD (/mnt/sdcard).

when download gameloft games, data file is save at default directory ( /mnt/sdcard/),
it is save to external sd card for 2 layers memory phone but comes to 3 layers phones (SGS,SGS2 and SGW),
it save to internal sd, so only 2GB can use for games.
must root, or use 3rd party apps to mount or patch ur games file only can move to external sd in SGW.
bear in mind. >,<
(I think this should include to the detail of the phones in top post, some people might don't know about this information.)
*
But strangely, when I used my Galaxy SL (2GB available internal SD), when I installed games, they go straight to the external SD. My internal SD is largely unused except for Papago which ate up 600MB+. The other apps all I map the path to the external SD and I had no problems (Titanium Backup, etc).

One reason I can think of is that if the game completes downloading and installing, it may move to external SD. If the game can't even finish download due to insufficient space in internal SD, it will fail.

You can also change the alarms.

SDcard > Media > Audio > Ringtones
SDcard > Media > Audio > Alarms

What's in the retail box? Maybe someone can update the first page.

No man. I think you are using root right? Since you have Titanium Backup.
using Titanium Backup totally no problem in moving those apps.
but without root and those apps like Titanium Backup We cant move it.
and We don't wanna root our phone. that's why its a concern.
*
Yes I have root. But those games go to external automatically... although I haven't tried Gameloft. Maybe Gameloft games are programmed differently sad.gif

Heyya, I have some questions..
I download application from Android Market. Then I want to uninstall it. Then I click the application for 3 seconds then I drag it to 'remove'.
Then I clicked application again, the app is still there ^^;

How to remove it from SD card? Looks like if we delete it, it is still there.. we have to uninstall it.. please help me
*
I believe you only removed it from your homescreen (like a desktop shortcut). To uninstall, go to Settings > Applications, select the app, and Uninstall.

Just got myself a 2nd-hand SGW. First impression: fast, smooth, nice and bright display. Don't like the design of the top, and 3.7" a bit too small for me. Will test until tonight then pass to my wife and I use her SL laugh.gif

QUOTE(verticalar @ Nov 11 2011, 01:20 PM)
yea.... but at least this one is smarter to have memory card slot...
*
AFAIK, all Android phones with internal SD card will also have external SD slot... except for Nexus series. Any others?

u claimed on senheng not samsung. they might bring to samsung to claimed for the 1st year. following yr all is under senheng if no mistake. if ap set fully r under senheng warranty.

Kies got firmware update. The later batches of phones seem to have the firmware already.

As far as we know, nobody claimed phone warranty at Sen Heng before. 1st year is still under SME, you can visit SME directly. 2nd and 3rd year at Sen Heng. Don't think staff-changing will affect the claim, you still have the receipt and they have to honour the extended warranty deal. Sen Heng only sells original sets.

those chain shop said sell ori but i dun think so. tv swtich on power will spoiled & remote control also. i take care well the tv but still happened. they sent to sony. u get my point? they might sell ori but when during QC, sony got grade each items, eg: A is for sony, B for senheng, C for other. so as for other brand. they got do own marking. if those guys plan for ori, just go for the brand shop. if ap then cincai find the cheapest.
*
The TV spoilt, they send to Sony, but you also can send to Sony yourself, right? Unless you're on extended warranty period already. Which means it's original.

Original and AP are the same, just the warranty is different.

Anybody knows where to get mirror screen protector for SGW? And, what's special about diamond screen protector other than the glittering effect?

Yes I always get clear type. Matte reduces even Super AMOLED Plus to low quality tongue.gif

But I'm wondering about mirror and diamond, I heard they're same as clear but have something extra (mirror effect, diamond effect).

QUOTE(Pius @ Nov 13 2011, 11:55 AM)
hey guys, anyone hv encounter problems after upgrade the new firmware from kies?
for me, after upgrade to latest firmware from kies, my phone becomes so unstable. my phone's auto rotate sensor is malfunction very often. mean sometime when it is horizontal, it cannot back to vertical and vice versa. the auto rotate sensor even malfunction in the service test menu *#0*#
i have to restart my phone to make it works again, and it is so annoying as it keep malfunction.

one more thing, my opera mobile was working fine before upgrade the firmware, after upgrade, opera mobile keeps auto close and crash very often. WTF problem is this, i not even have this problem in low spec phone like optimus one and galaxy mini..

for those who havent upgrade the firmware, a friendly advice from me that DO NOT upgrade the firmware as it will make u frustrated.
*
Thanks for the heads-up. Did Display -> Horizontal Calibration work?
