I can confirm that the root guide give in xda forum is safe for our galaxy W
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582

I had done it, no problems.

baseband verson
I8150DXKJ2

kernel
2.6.35.7-perf-I8150DXKJ3-CL644706root@DELL137#3

I guess if ur phone is the same version as mine, there shud not be any problems too.

I was worried to root my phone, i had bricked my previous phone a galaxy mini before.
But the temptation to be able to use apps that needs root is too strong.

good thing is, i m just gonna stop by this stage
if the cpu wasn't already tebo to 1.4ghz, i would already be searching for how to overclock it.
overclocking on the galaxy mini is fun, 825mhz and the battery drains like shit laugh.gif

Paago can be used in W
but the NaviSEA folder must be placed in the internal storage either internal memory or internal usb
otherwise it wont work

you do not need to root to use papago

but i recommend SYGIC
it works better on my W than the papago

@CarroTT:

I still keep Sygic in my phone for ability to key in cordinate, etc. biggrin.gif

Can I ask you if you click "Setting", "Navigate to...", "Address or POI", can you select "POI - In Malaysia". That option is dimmed out in my Sygic.

Mine has no problem showing nearby POIs
