They have this phone on display in Gardens @ Mid-Valley so I tried it out today.
I am so impressed. The S-LCD is good, I like it better than the SGS2's S.AMOLED because it has the same resolution but more natural colours.
Also I like the design, the contours and curves feel more... natural?

QUOTE(supervisionx @ Nov 11 2011, 03:02 PM) i tought it is TFT lcd. bcos i read from few review it using TFT. but it is really impress me,, movie so sharp and clear,, sometime feel like watching 3D movie ,may be too close to my eyes. According to this GSMArena preview, it's S-LCD. Also the salesman tells me it's only RM999 ? That's bloody value for money when you compare to other 1GHz+ phones. Incredible S still selling for 1.5k+.

The main thing stopping from buying this phone is my doubts about the call quality and the SMS sending failure issues. I don't actually call or SMS people much, prefer to use WhatsApp. But I always imagine that someday a crazy killer is chasing me, and I'm stuck in a poor reception toilet, and I call for help using my phone but the person other side cannot hear me properly.

So far any Maxis users have any problems with call reception, voice quality or SMS?

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Nov 11 2011, 04:41 PM) android phone all like this. only iphone ok nia. I'm using iPhone 4 right now, got the infamous home button problem. But at least call quality and SMS no problems. But I still need (want) a new Android phone to replace my aging HTC Hero. That's why considering SGW.

QUOTE(NoirReaver @ Nov 11 2011, 05:23 PM) For now day 2-3 no sms problems yet and call quality, at least from my end, sounds clear. What's your Carrier? Are you using Edge/3G? Edit: Replaced GSM with Edge This post has been edited by Andrew Lim: Nov 11 2011, 05:57 PM

Edit: False Alarm! I tested again and realized it was because I was swiping between the first and last homescreens >.<
Just now I was playing with a demo unit and noticed the homescreen swiping isn't as smooth as the Applications menu. Think I will be installing LauncherPro if I get this phone.

I don't like the SGS+ design, although technically the S.AMOLED screen is better and bigger.

Still don't see many review for the SGW. I really want to see what GSMArena has to say.

I agree, the Galaxy Note is too big for me to use a phone. I see how it could be a smaller, more convenient tablet though.
