2 questions...

1.how to disable vibration every time message comes in? i can't seems to find the way to disable it.
2. settings/display... no auto brightness?
3. is there any way to receive mms without having a data plan? just like my al cheapo nokia 2600 classic. a link perhaps...

thank you all
*
1.settings, sound, vibrate and set to only in silent mode or never.
2.no auto brightness
3.go to mobile network settings and change both apn to mms. dont forget to enable packet data (you will only use data when send/received MMS and only normal MMS charges apply) and you can turn it off after receiving mms (save battery)

Seems like the ROM is the same as the one that I have, only the Odin is diff. Any idea where can I get just that particular version of Odin?

try to change the usb port or try on another computer (make sure that kies is not running on the background). if problem still persists, uninstall kies and install this driver http://www.mediafire.com/?1c3ca4117bm43n6

hmm, how is HTC Incredible S better than W? W has faster CPU and bigger battery.

768 mb of ram, 8mp camera with dual led flash and 1.3mp secondary camera. since both are using the same cpu chipset, they are kinda on par.

I can't seems to find the link, bro. Would you be kind enough to provide me with it?

It was my mistake not to use any ROM manager.
BTW, is the backup file generated by ROM Manager compatible with ODIN?
*
try this http://hotfile.com/dl/135372881/f536d2f/GT...OZSKJ3.rar.html
extract it

pass:sampro.pl

it's one package file
user posted image
use ancora ops and select ..I8150OZSKJ3.tar for one package

i think you can update it to kj5 later

Thanks you so much for the link.

I will certainly download it after I finish updating my phone through Kies that still in progress now.

Any idea how do I generate the file as in your link? Can ROM manager do that?.
*
it's provided by sampro. i'm not sure whether rom manager is compatible with galaxy w or not. it's better for you to ask here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...=1329466&page=8

Rom Manager/ClockWorkMod Recovery allows you to make a full Nandroid backup. the backup file will be created on the sdcard. whenever you bricked your phone, just enter the recovery mode and restore the backup

Swap (remap) Internal SD with External SD. To do this you need to replace (or manually edit) /etc/vold.fstab with attached one.

DISCLAIMER: Usual stuff. Do it at your own risk. I am not responsible for any damage or data loss it may cause.

You may loose applications that have been moved to SD card so it might be a good idea to move all installed apps to the phone memory.
Make sure your phone is rooted and your external SD card is FAT32 formatted.
Back up your original /etc/vold.fstab
Copy accross any data you want to be on new /mnt/sdcard from your /mnt/sdcard to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd
Unzip and put modified vold.fstab on you phone
In root explorer go to /etc
Re-mount the filesystem to R/W
Copy modified vold.fstab from wherever you have it to the /etc using root explorer
Change permissions to rw-r--r-- (644)
Re-mount filesystem as R/O
Reboot your phone

Your external big SD card should now be /mnt/sdcard (Internal SD) and your internal SD should now be /mnt/sdcard/external_sd

When you move apps to SD they will be moved to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd

Limited internal sd/usb storage really a headache for HD gamers bcos file was huge 200mb-900mb.
U can go to My Files there > gameloft >data > 'games files' hold for awhile n appear selection to move it to external_sd memory.just when u wan to play u could move it back to internal_sd gameloft>data n move other file to external_sd.this is kinda lazy job for any gamers  smile.gif
but not sure W can do memory swapping external_sd to bcome internal_sd like galaxy S n SL(root needed,do it at own risk).
there are app in market can solve this prob, but limited to some devices at the moment.try search market "GL to SD"  laugh.gif
*
galaxy w can do memory swapping but only for those who dare to root and experienced users
