Shopping for a decent keyboard, found this thread..

Any recommendations for a keyboard in budget range of RM300 or less..

Can't justify myself to purchase a keyboard for RM400+...

Where can I try / feel these expensive keyboard in stores around Klang Valley..

Thanks

I dig thru my parent's house store room and found this keyboard :-

I think it is an ancient keyboard during my 80286 era ( 1990-1991 )... it have a PC/AT BIG connector and with a few more digging, I even found a PC/AT to PS/2 connector adapter too..

Behind the keyboard got a switch to choose for 8088/80286 ... Made in Taiwan by Amconics Industry Corp....

Took it home, pull out all the keys and give it a nice cleaning and vacuum out all the dust.. and use a keyboard tester software to test it and ALL the keys still WORKS!!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Is this a Cherry MX Blue from the colour of the switch..

This must be the oldest mechanical keyboard on this forum... hehe

Love the clicky feeling and really speed up my typing.. but also speed up my typo...

A questions, are the keycaps ALL compatible, I was thinking of changing the WASD keys to red colour for the fun of it...

Congrats.
Now get some Vanish OxyClean + Hydrogen Peroxide from a pharmacy and retrobrite that thing
By the way, how clicky are they?

Thanks for the suggestions ...

How clicky.... hhmmmm hard to describe mechanical stuff...

The number pad "No. 2" is kinda worn out...

Those days there are no first person shooter using WASD keys and mouse yet... mainly uses number pad..

Now totally enjoying typing on it... smile.gif

Best of all, no need to spend 400+ to get a mechanical keyboard..

If your place having any e-waste recycling program, i suggest pay a visit to it and test your luck if can find anything valuable. Most probably nobody will know that "gold" may exist in those waste.
