hey fellas, I'm thinking of picking up a mech keyboard for my daily use. Been stalking this thread for couple of times. biggrin.gif

Last time I posted a question on "Blackwidow Ultimate, why the hating/ignore?" I heard the coming stealth edition is going to be cherry brown, should I get it?

Or are they any Zarmor mech keyboard users around here?

Try different switches and see which one fits you.

You can check with Cyclonechuah for Topre switches.

I paid SGD$175 for brown switches.
Malaysia should receive them soon.

Note that : This are limited edition and will really run out like the early Limited Edition models such as the Filco R and Multi-Cam.

You have a lot of mechanical keyboards, mainly cherry switches.

Have you tried topre switches? Just curious what would your verdict / review be.

Hmmm, I probably just list their name down here when I am free.

A lot of work to PM them personally to get them to join this thread.

Finally sold off my Filco Majestouch Linear R Limited Edition.

Not much, I'll need to sell off my other Filco Brown to get another Topre Realforce Keyboard.

how much you sell your brown switch?

Whoa.... you just eliminated your FILCOs and replaced them with realforces????
*
Not eliminated, just selling them away.

I don't like to have too many keyboards. I just need two, one for work and one for home.

Please remove the following from the list:

kianweic - Filco Majestouch Linear R Limited Edition (Cherry MX Red)

I have sold this away on Saturday. It is now owned by Manticore.

You can update the list accordingly:

QUOTE(xcen @ Nov 21 2011, 09:58 AM)
Could be due to keyboard also. For example while I can reach 110WPM on my mechanical keyboard, I can only go around 85WPM on my laptop's keyboard. My Logitech membrane keyboard also about 85-90WPM only.

But learning touch typing is definitely good to improve your WPM. It took me several weeks to get used to it, but definitely worth it.
You want faster? Got a keyboard, courtroom person use to record one, I dunno what is it called. You need special training in order to be qualified.

One of my colleague hid my Filco Brown earlier when I was at the gym during lunch time.

I had to use my laptop keyboard instead. Quite funny.

Modding?? Coz hardcore people at GH even mod their IBM model M with an additional wireless controller....
So if you're hardcore enough, then i think you can mod your realforces to become wireless forces.... laugh.gif

IBM Model M isn't as expensive as Realforce.

Nah, modding takes a lot of time and effort.

I have neither.

Aren't those keyboards really old?

Dansdata's review
QUOTE
I bought three 42H1292s. Including the air mail shipping, they ended up costing me $US253, which worked out to $132 Australian per keyboard. US buyers, of course, wouldn't face such exciting shipping charges (did I mention they're rather heavy?), and would be able to get them rather closer to their $US49 list price, which presently works out as $AU75 or so.

Very eye-catching, yellow colour keyboard.

Wonder what would my colleagues think if I had one in the office.

Yup, old but golden. Some ppl having retro/vintage fetish and are willing to spend on ridiculous price IBM model M(similar to the cherry ergonomic that sold for >RM7.5k in yahoo.jp February last time....).
BTW, model M is really a good keyboard.

Appears to be for collectors.

I stop collecting any limited edition / collector's edition / rare stuff, long long time ago.

I will just get the used version and give it a try, if I really want to.

Not a big fan of aluminum as they scratch and damage too easily.
I would only be interested if they use at least 7075.
