Harro,

I cannot decide between the CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid Red and the Ducky DK9008G2 Red keyboard. Both price difference are around RM100. Initially thought the Ducky Red Switch was a shine model (Full back light), turns out only the Brown and Blue switches are backlighted.

Brown switches requires 45g of force but brute for may reach up to 55g right? I don't understand about the brute force, Black switches are 60g, makes it only 5g difference if we were to compare brute force. Currently Black switches are too hard to me, I need a softer switch.

Any suggestions? smile.gif

Decide it by whether you can a smaller(tenkeyless) keyboard or fullsize. whistling.gif BTW, ducky shine do had RED switch model too. Not sure if Malaysia distributor bring it in, details need to ask Storm88 himself to be more accurate.

You should study the force graph of cherry switch on the 1st page to get what it mean. It should work like spring, starting soft and gradually becoming stiffer.

For the soft switch part, brown/red should be (soft) more than enough for your need, depend mainly on whether you want linear or tactile switch. If by anycase they aren't soft enough, than sadly your only choice probably only Realforce full 30g... sweat.gif

The numberpad is not really important as I do not really use it anyway. In your opinion, would you prefer a brown or a red switch?

LOL 30g is too light laugh.gif

bro i used a brown filco before.
After reading some reviews, i decided to try out red switch.
So since there's no more red filco, i got the closest.
A red ducky shining.
The feel is totally different.

To me the brown fits better for typing.
And the red is better for my gaming session.

and somehow i type faster with the red. But i like the feel of the brown.

my feel about red and brown.

And yeah i agree....black is very the hard!
maybe getting another red soon! biggrin.gif

Added on February 2, 2012, 9:48 pmBtw the RED light on the red switch ducky shining is awesome!

Andrewtho, your steelseries 6gv2 have  along backspace?

Yes the Backspace is long. Quite weird to see the 7G is rather small.

It is one of the cheapest MX Red keyboards out there. MX Red keys are slightly more expensive than other keys because they are rare. Ducky shining Red cost 449-489.

But according to retailers, the stocks for MX Red keyboards are much lesser than the rest. If it is common, why the huge price difference?

Added on February 9, 2012, 5:48 pmAnyway, the Ducky Shine does not auto 'shine' everytime you start up the PC? It's like it will auto reset to default setting
