white FC700R seems tempting biggrin.gif
*
too much white board out there... rclxub.gif +hard to take good care of white....
I prefer the gray color, sound more unique, vintage + industrial looks brows.gif

BTW, it priced really a little steep(even if it is PBT, newcomer will still feel dafuq). Hope it won't exceed RM360 in Malaysia or it really may have a hard time to sell in Malaysia.
I personally will advice Cyclone to bring specific popular/unique model(color and switch) in a small quantity to test the water first. wink.gif

This is the stabilizers on the WYSE by the way. I am posting this because they are wonderful. Does not feel like other Cherry-type stabilizers

Better to post this here.
That Leopold basher does behave a lot like Proton bashers don't you think?

Whether they are good or not they can judge by themselves.
But I don't think He has no money to buy more keyboards. It is one thing to point out the bad stuff, like shit soldering, stupid component usage and such, it's another to bash it because they don't want to disclose who makes their keyboards.  tongue.gif

On a side note,
As far as I can tell, the Leopold stabilizers and the WYSE one looks quite similar. Might change the switches in my WYSE with non-vintage switch and see if it makes any difference.
*
SO you actually do use the WYSE keyboard for typing?

speaking of it, is the metal plate really that rage-proof?
i mean, isn't the metal plate suppose to hold the switch so it would be more stable than PCB mounted?
*
Rage proof thing of course not really valid. The switch body itself is quite fragile. A heavy smash on it will make something in it go wrong. The steel plate can't even take on a heavy flexural force(though PCB should be worse).

For stability comparison between both, I am not sure. But AFAIHeard, the 2 extra pins(PCB) one is more expensive and claimed higher grade then those without pins, not sure why...

*
LOL I not sure(but probably yellowing is unavoidable as what normal ABS does), mine haven even being used over 1 week...
But the replacement keycaps(blank) is quite affordable. After the original gone yellow, just get a new set and you are good to go.

speaking of the controller, turning a 6kro usb to 38kro? too good to be true?

Noticed that from the "recently sold" there, Full-size 104keys Cherry Red Leopold Clone for only 390RMB... doh.gif
EDITED: The seller reverted the price back to standard price dy... doh.gif

He also promised keys programmability and also faster polling rate...

do noted that it require quite a lot effort to mod a keyboard to be compatible with that specific controller, since each controller controls the keyboard differently, it would require the keyboard to be rewired to be able to use the new controller.

From what i read, it seems to to programmed to halt all stuff from running in the CPU just for the input, i wonder that concept will work or not, what will happen if we press and hold the key?

Plus, it won't be cheap from what he said.
Looks like we found another which functions like Chameleon controller. But Chameleon controller are NKRO under USB if what i remember is correct.
*
He is trying to keep the price below 100/200RMB.

Changing of controller for sure require new wiring and matrix mapping. Like using the teensy in GH modification section. I am more worrying on the programming part than wiring part... doh.gif

This one the creator claim that he 36KRO can be reached without the use of any diode(which I suspect ghosting may occur...), which should be far more than enough.

Now lets wait the actual product/prototype to see what exactly had being created.

BTW, just found a mindfcuk thing.

The WASD is a Mionix Zibal clone? rclxub.gif The clone war in mechanical keyboard is strong...

I agree on the paying for quality part but I wouldn't say WASD is better than Filco although they are both from Costar.
WASD, Thermaltake Meka G1 and Mionix Zibal are basically the same model with slighty different internal, this "gap" makes me rage...

shocking.gif I thought only Ozone Strike is a rebrand of TT Meka.
It totally changed my mind of iOne/Xarmor/Qpad as the most rebranded keyboard...

It is not to 'halt'.
The term you are looking for is interrupt based.

There are 2 type of IO detection method, interrupt and polling based.
Interrupt is like the keyboard stops whatever the CPU is doing and ask the CPU to process the input first.
Polling is like the CPU asking the Keyboard " Are we there yet" depending on the polling rate.

I explained it as simple as I could.
Even wikipedia wont be this simple laugh.gif

PS2 is interrupt based, USB is polling based.
I am just guessing here but I think thats why you can achieve NKRO on ps2 easily.

EDIT: WASD is a MIONIX without the backlight. They are all Costar made. Also see: TTMEKA
*
The interrupt/polling part I knew it b4.

Just dono that USB can be interrupt mode too.

So the TTMeka also using exactly the same case? Their wrist rest is somehow different, which made me never noticed the actual similarities between them...

BTW guys, I am now pretty sure that Leopold FC700R and Keycool 87 come from same mother. Their internal(PCB and soldering) are identical.

Though, their exterior(case, modifier type and steel plate) are different.

Hope Leopold fixed the key offset and ghosting part. Then it will be a perfect board and ready to rival FILCO and its clones. thumbup.gif

Though this would suggest that Leopold might kena some offset issues as well.

from the pictures shown, they aren't. It is possible cause they use different steel plate.
I now wait to see if they use square shaped LED, lol...

Its an IBM M13 trackpoint mech keyboard
i google the picture and found out it was one of the rare keyboard in mechanical world, one in good condition comes in price as high as $300USD!!!  shocking.gif

anyway, in searching for the M13, i finally found the new KBC forum  rclxm9.gif
*
Hmm, you sure it cost 300$? hmm.gif
AFAIK, the most seek after IBM Model M is IBM SSK(TKL). It can easily cost over 100 for normal used and 200-300 for extremely new condition.

The M13 is actually quite common in Taobao. Normally cost only around 200RMB(RM100).

Hmm, new KBC forum?

Full size keyboard with red + multimedia keys are quite rare(local).

For currently available(foreign country) model, you can try Keycool and Zowie Celeritas.

For currently unavailable and not sure if ever land in Malaysia model, you can look for CM Storm Trigger.

I wonder why don't you just grab Ducky? Or buy a normal red switch board and AHK them?

guys, i wanted to ask, anyone here have sanding plastic experience? mind to share?

from my sanding, i did remove all the glossy surface, but the main problem is that i couldn't get the texture i wanted. anyone of you pro in this ?
*
no experience b4

But according to what I read, it mainly depend on the grade you use to finish off the last.

If you want some texture, better end with something coarser than 1000 or 800.

Too smooth(over 1000 grits) will probably make the keycaps shiny and having no texture. Not really a enjoyable experience and worse if it become fingerprint magnet(mirror surface).

Cool, indeed Leopold FC700R also having the square shaped LED. It seems to be confirmed of the same OEM.

Though, I still hold hopes that it will escape the offset issue of Keycool. For which it's casing and steel plate are actually different(and may be the screw location too).

tips for using sand papers, you can uses it wet, it will become soft, and can curve into the key caps curved surface, and try to put a few layers of cloth below the sand paper when sanding it, try to hold the key caps on your hand and the cloths over the edge of the table, then sand paper on top of the wet layers of cloths, get the key caps and slide on the sandpapers surface with patient...

I normally sanding stones instead of plastic, I work also on pvc and acrylics, i uses 4000 and 5000 grits to sand them to mirror surface.
*
On the contrary, we not really in need of mirror surface, LOL...

We still hope for some rough(for not too rough) textures.
