Well, the Grey color, it's a dark grey i think, but i'll explain more when i get the sample.
and yes, i would reconfirm with you guys that the new FC700 Tenkeyless model Keyboard will be using PBT Keycap which features thick Keycap (1.3mm thickness, which is the thickest keycap, should be the same thickness of old classic PBT Cherry Keycap or thicker).
Yet, it's all just empty talk for now until i receive a working sample to confirm it, so please bear with me, everyone.

Btw, i have receive Cherry Doubleshot from Taobao this morning, 6 sets of it, as you all know, the keycap condition are used, and require sanding.   cry.gif
I spend 4 hours in afternoon sanding one set of it and proceed to install O-rings on the cherry doubleshot, and then put it on my FC200R Tenkeyless model.
Damn, it's good, doubleshot keycap with o-ring is good man.(o-rings are from kaiserreich)

For CTRL, ALT, Capslock, and Scroll Lock.
1.(Capslock stem position not same)
2.(CTRL, ALT are 1.5x Modifier, and my keyboard CTRL are 1.25x Modifier, so they can't fit)
3.(Scroll Lock, i need the windowed key for the LED light to pass thru, xD )

P.S : My camera suck, sorry about it.  cry.gif

SO today I learnt why do Razer BW having a nonstandard size Ctrl and Alt. hmm.gif
Seems like they are not doing that alone, even Cherry also follow such standard?

BTW, which model specifically? May want to try luck to get some onto my Razer BW.

One thing about sanding is that you can no longer see the shine.
But I still like the feel of a normal keycap better.
*
It depend on the grade of the sandpaper you used on the finishing. Anything more than 2000 will result to a fine and slippery or even shiny finish.
Try and error till you get the desired texture you like. tongue.gif

Cherry have alot of keyboard layout and not limited to only one, the Keycap that i manage to purchase are G80-1000 series Doubleshot. If you interested in looking their layout, check out Realforce keyboard they have similar layout as well.  smile.gif

Yet, i purchase 6 set of them, thinking about keeping 2~3 sets, and sell another 3, sanding service will be up to customer to decide thou. i recommend they do it themselves LOL, i wanna cry when i'm sanding it myself, lol
For me, i prefer the 1.5x modifier layout, it makes life easier for pressing CTRL and ALT easier, since i never use those windows key. =X

Added on January 10, 2012, 6:17 pm

you mean the Cherry Doubleshot keycap?
*
Ok, found them on Keyboard Porn.
Seems like it is the type that having no Window keys? hmm.gif Just realise that model M's Ctrl also using 1.5x even after eying them for over 2 years doh.gif ?
Sadly no much modern board(apart from Razer BW...) still following such standard...

I gather these used sets from Taobao are all shiny?
I don't use 1.5x Ctrl nor Alt, caps locks ftw. Only need the layout because they look nicer.

With the Razer using 1.5X Ctrl and Alt, you still need to source 1x windows and 1x Menu key.
Note: 1.5x keycaps from Cherry Beige set have different height. They are very much taller than the normal R1 keycap.

As to 1.5x keycaps Cherry black set, these have normal height. But alas, the 7x black spacebar have the same height as the 1.5x keycaps from the Beige set
*
LOL, much taller R1? Thats kind of strange there... rclxub.gif

Windows and Menu, who care? whistling.gif A normal 1x size blank key will do the job. brows.gif

Why Cherry so complicated one? Same R1 but so much standard... doh.gif

BTW, Clyclone, can you post to me the size and profile comparison of those 1.5x modifier and the spacebar(with normal size)? Want to see if it is possible to fit in my Razer BWU...

That's what the Koreans did, they used cursor arrows.
You will need 6x Spacebar from the MY1800 MX1800 series for it to fit. Plus a stem mod is probably required.
All in all, you need 2 sets of doubleshots to turn your Razer into a Full Doubleshot keyboard
*
So someone actually did a full DS mod on Razer BW? hmm.gif
BTW, I am not really looking for DS onto my BW. Just some better quality than the "coated" keycaps will do.

Zinc are a bad choice IMO. In general, Zinc is a soft metal thus it will be prone to damage/scratches.
Another worry is that the keycaps might be electroless zinc plated instead of made solely out of Zinc.
China is last on my list when it comes to honesty.

If I'd rather have nickel/brass keycaps as they are more durable as nickel/brass are often use to make coins and keys.

Harder material = harder to made = higher price, true storeh... whistling.gif

Added on January 11, 2012, 2:13 pmBTW, the painted/coated fugly metal keycap I got along with my keycool. Despite the fugly look and non-impressive finish, it the touch feel is superb. shocking.gif
It cost 10RMB each, bundle the whole 37keys for 270RMB(mean 7.3RMB each)

Added on January 11, 2012, 2:24 pmTo anyone who are interested to collect Devlin keycaps(for collection purpose, cause the profile is not suitable for modern board), here is quite the cheapest I can find. The 70+ Cherry Brown switches are also whole new, good for those who in need of harvest.

The keyboard originally is very clean. Those in my image is after it accumulate dust in my room...

However, do note that the shipping weight is OVER 9000!!! over 2kg-3kg... If possible, ask the agent/seller to dump the casing and send only keycaps and PCB...

anyway, a pleasant surprise i suppose?  hmm.gif
but from the looks of the underside of the keycap, seems like the coating is not uniform... will "peel"?

Thats why I opted for another option which having a clear and non-coated(at least not those easy peel paint) at first. But the seller having no stock...

Added on January 11, 2012, 2:42 pmBTW @Clyclone

Can show me the dimension and position of "X" of the spacebar from your DS set? I want to know if it can fit in the Razer BW... Thx

Though I personally feel that it will still be too long for Razer BW. Razer spacebar only 6.25/6.5X modifier. rclxub.gif

Hmm.... Seems like the spacebar is even longer than normal length.

BTW, Razer BW length also is nonstandard.
Here is the comparison with keycool, which I think the length should be standard with normal modern board.

Keycool is 6.25x
Razer is 6x, why the 4 stems?
If only three stems, the 6x from MY1800 MX1800 Cherry keyboards should be a perfect fit, PBT spacebar to boot.

Only 3 in use, another one is for the LUL purpose may be... hmm.gif

Cause it is used by Cherry b4 too. Also, IIRC the titanium spacebar also having the 4th X.

and it's the best to do in parallel cos we can easily identify which LED is dead in case of dead LED(s).

Think so too(and also series will require hell lots of works to be done too).
BTW, I wonder whats the limit for the current in the board after the LED being put? hmm.gif

For anyone that are interested with the gold metal keycap, it's from MKC which is still Zinc alloy Keycap. >_>

anyway, here's a clear picture of FC700 White. Beware of the large picture size. For the membrane cover, i think it's included. =X

As for why i didn't post picture about the Grey version, it is because the picture taken has different contrast between each picture, while i'm looking at it from CRT monitor, it seems the picture contrast affect the grey color, so before i posted them, i would wait until i receive the sample to confirm the color, and then proceed to post the picture that has the closest color to the keyboard.

For the price tag, while it's not official, expecting it to be around the same or less than price tag of FC500, well, some may think "why the same price tag of FC500?", please do remember this FC700 Model uses PBT Keycap.  smile.gif
*
If price at RM300, sure it can sell(though still need some effort in marketing the Leopold).
If priced at RM330, still acceptable, need extra marketing effort. E.g: Be bicthy, buy a [insert brand here] and another [insert another brand here] and tear them down to compare. whistling.gif

FC500 is also using PBT keycap right? Then why FC700 cannot be the same price (or higher)?
Actually what is the difference between FC500 and FC700?
*
FC500 only normal ABS(and come with free blank abs).

Actually, we can't really compare their price as their form-factor are different. And also maybe the targeted market also dif.

FC700R is targeted and marketed as a premium stuff.

第一把还是不要F,不然你会变成F4!
当然你是一把键盘完结你得机械之路,那当我没说

BTW, only get FC700R if you are ready to go for tenkeyless layout. If not, better stick with FC500R.

FC700R no numpad.

Determine whether you want a numpad buy it. Ignore other things.

Those silicone rubber covers  doh.gif .
Gonna have more of those people who puts silicone rubber covers over their keyboards to type.
Kinda kills the feeling of it.

Stuff feels better without (silicone) Rubber  tongue.gif

Actually, some of those silicon cover is not bad. Like I said b4, it really make preventing bottom up cherry switch extremely easy. Also, it will make your cherry blue more enjoyable if you find bit too noisy.
