QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Jan 1 2012, 05:11 AM) whats the best mechanical gaming keyboard for rm500 +/- ? You need to define the term " Gaming Keyboard" Imo, any mechanical keyboard is more than good enough with normal blink blink membrane keyboards Added on January 1, 2012, 10:47 amQUOTE(工藤新一 @ Jan 1 2012, 06:13 AM) is it worth to buy ducky 9008 s as my first mechanical keyboard? blue switch or brown switch? pls suggest me~thx (= Any mechanical keyboard can be your first mechanical keyboard. But if you say about Back lid keyboard, its between Razer and Ducky 9008S. Then i would suggest you to go after Ducky Shining This post has been edited by storm88: Jan 1 2012, 10:47 AM

QUOTE(seichirosano @ Jan 1 2012, 03:35 PM) yeah i agree with you on the consistency, im not sure is it just me or my ducky brown keyboard. sometimes i feel the "crisp-ness" as im typing on the "alphabet" keys, sometimes i dont. but i always feel the crispness on the space bar. For ducky keyboards, the switch used on the space bar is always different, plus if you compare ducky keyboard to Filco, the feel is different. Why? it's differ from the material used on PCB, the plate and also the stabilizer. Some people find Filco's metal spring stabilizer is better, but some prefer cherry stabilizer. These factors lead to the different in typing feel

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Jan 2 2012, 12:38 PM) actually it is not cheap at all considering the original price of it. (sorry, storm) DUCKY alps are FULL anti ghosting over PS/2, and 6-keys anti ghosting over USB. It's all right, but had to tell that, The pricing structure at Taiwan vs Malaysia (or other distributors in the world) is totally different. Seller at Taiwan doesn't need go thru the level of distributor. While at Malaysia and other country, we distributors do the works for Ducky.

QUOTE(Human10 @ Jan 2 2012, 02:14 PM) Actually those 9 series price are still consider OK, as those China seller in Taobao also price around that price. Just that the XM model suppose to be an entry board, those the price should be more affordable to attract customers. comments taken. Really appreciate that. we'll try to see and make an win win situation there

Besides that, where can I get one/test with brown keycaps in KL? in KL you can get to Lowyat plaza C-zone, if you somewhere nearby MMU or Serdang, u can get to CEX. And if you stay somewhere near Subang u can try at ModernoPC p/s: if you stay somewhere around Johor, retailer is also avail. QUOTE(Human10 @ Jan 5 2012, 11:59 AM) I don't think thats the case(just some assumption), the coating will wear out first b4 the keycaps start to become shiny, right? that's right. The Key caps from Ducky Shine are made from ABS. However, the keycap is coated by "paint" So basically the pain will start to fall off from the keyboards first then only the key will start to "shiny" Anyhow, it depend on different type of users. Different user have different using condition, thus the life span of the "painted key caps" are different as well

QUOTE(bai1101 @ Jan 16 2012, 03:14 PM) Yeap. Brasso is very effective to do the touch up work. And most importantly, if you do it the right way, the result will be very nice! It's not too costly to try polish with Brasso but, be prepared to "TAHAN" the smell...

QUOTE(Cyclonechuah @ Jan 16 2012, 03:29 PM) why brasso? since we're not doing a mirror like finish. If it's that, 2000 grit + polish will do the trick. By using brasso, u can make ur caps either matte finished, or mirror finished. 2000 paper it won't give that nice enough's finish. But it's personal la, if you like mirror alike, then u should polish it. If you feel the outcome of sanding by 2000 grit paper is enough, then it's also fine This post has been edited by storm88: Jan 16 2012, 02:41 PM

QUOTE(Cyclonechuah @ Jan 16 2012, 04:02 PM) i see, thanks for the info, i'll go google more about brasso and trying to get matte finish. erm... wait i think i typed too fast just now... and i come back for some correction Brasso can't make matte surface, as brasso's main purpose is to polish and make things "shiny" looks. sorry buddy
