It is possible for dye sub keycap to be other color than white, but the color to Dye the keycap must be deeper color than the keycap, For White Keycap, it is possble to Dye Sub with all possible color.

But a Dark Grey Color Keycap are only limited to Black Color Dye Sub.

Mainly it is due to the color being melted and mix into the plastic, in this process, the color of the plastic will mix with the Dye.

Because dye-sub basically last forever(as long as the keycap itself last).
Yup, dye-sub can be any possible color the machine can print,

LOL got any update in keycaps? All are old news posted over and over... blink.gif

BTW, KBC Poker is known as both 40% and 60%, depend who called it. Form factor wise, it is around 60%(cut the F keys, cut the tenkey, cut the arrow and home keys). Though, some ppl rather call it 40% for which many function had being loss, LOL...

i got some Cherry corp dye sub keycaps.

Basically the print is using dye which soaks into the plastic so it's very hard to wear. The contrast probably doesn't beat double shots thats for sure. But it's good enough.

Over all it's better than pad printed icon_rolleyes.gif

double shot can be used on abs plastic. Whereas dye sub can use on abs, and pbt.

In terms of durability pbt is supposedly better. This is why dye sub pbt which i have are much sought after.

oh dye subs are usually 3-5 times more the cost compared to doubleshots.

Anyways for first timer i think they will be happier with doubleshot nod.gif cheaper than dye sub too.

Dye subs don't work on ABS.
The ABS will melt after the Dye Sub is done.

@Moogle Stiltzkin , what kaiserreich say is true, ABS will melt/deform in the process of Dye Sub.

althou PBT dye sub retains texture much longer than ABS Doubleshot.

Still, PBT Dye Sub printing durability still loses to ABS Doubleshot. Due to Dye penetration is not deep enough.(Printing Durability heavily depends on Dye Penetration)
Ranging from 1year(Thin dye penetration) to 5 year above (deep dye penetration)

While ABS Doubleshot printing will last as long you don't break the keycap with sandpaper.
