Hi fellas, I used to have one of these back in 1992. Now I kind of wanting to play this again. But frankly speaking, I dunno how the mini 4wd is nowadays. So for 1st, I wanna learn abt the types of chassis available and the pros and cons of each chassis. Anyone can point out which weblinks can I learn more abt it, or anyone else can guide me abt the chassis types? Tq!

I have bought the Blast Arrow MA Chassis + AO wheel bearings and the gear bearings set + Hyper Dash Motor Pro. What else should I buy to improve the internals and power transfer 1st? Wheels? Tires? Battery terminals? I am really confused with the parts selection, too many lol!
Questions : the wheel bearings doesn't sit flush, is it normal?
Tq!

Thanks for the reply bro, I thought the wheels provided was a basic wheel set lol. Ok, I am relieved to know that the bearings sit like that is normal. Really itchy to test my car lol. But yes, I do not like the stock rollers. The staff recommended me the light weight aluminium roller set, and i think also the 19mm thin aluminium rollers too. Is it a good choice? Price is not an issue here lol, it's so much cheaper than my other hobby hehehe. QUOTE(szngszng @ Jul 23 2013, 10:20 PM) that is normal, it will left 1mm outside the chassis....you should upgrade the rollers 1st since the kit provide a set of good wheel, so now you need roller to stabilize your car, or else your car will easily fly out with hyperdash speed. happy racing

Thank you thank you thank you for sir. Is it a good setup for speed, because right now the track setup at Tu looks like a speed track. Correct me if I'm wrong lol. Too much to learn heheh! QUOTE(szngszng @ Jul 25 2013, 01:15 AM) usually this double roller use at the front and 19 for rear... By the way bro, what brand is the track in the pics? Can I buy some pieces to use as a home practice track? Tq! This post has been edited by poyo: Jul 25 2013, 07:39 AM

QUOTE(budakgemok @ Jul 29 2013, 04:52 AM) hi guys...im a newbie here.. totally noob... just nak tanye i bought my first car... avante clear violet mk3... for technical courses.. ape yang sesuai utk di tune up kan??? plss First off : chassis. Frp / carbon reinforced front and rear plates, rollers front and rear, mass weight, rims, tires and brake. Setup the basics for chassis 1st as it's the chassis setup that will enable your car to perform. Test the car on the technical track and see how your car performs. Once u get the chassis to work the way you want it to be, only then do up the gearing, bearings, shafts, engine etc. Then afterwards, if the engine and/or gearing is making your car lose control/fly off etc, study your current chassis setup and redo it so that it won't fly off etc again. Oh btw the car you got, I believe that there's plenty of setup vids etc in YouTube (not like mine, MA Chassis lol ). I think you can learn something from the YouTube vids too. QUOTE(siles1991 @ Aug 8 2013, 03:16 PM) ball bearing use as rollers? also from previous posts the "94966" can use for front but back use what? I think, for a start, get front and rear plates (front rear plates for AR and MA chassis can be used). Buy a screw set, either set A or set B, depending on your requirement (spacers for your roller placement at front and back). The 12-13mm aluminium rollers for the front, and 4 pieces of 13mm rollers for the back. Install some mass weight damper in the middle. Mach Dash is a very good motor for the MA Chassis. Get some bearings for the gear and wheels too as well. Buy I am soon interested with the 2013 GP carbon reinforced damped rollers setup. This post has been edited by poyo: Aug 8 2013, 05:30 PM

QUOTE(bee4short @ Aug 17 2013, 03:05 PM) hi guys. i've been wandering around this forum since a few months ago for guides and i have built one car yesterday. i've watched some tutorials on youtube as well.. i decided only to ask after im done with my car. i would like to ask general opinions if i missed anything/or anything to improve but are there any veterans left here? looks like an abandoned thread The performance and stability of your Mini 4WD depends on the track setup. If the track that you want to test your machine is currently setup for technical race, and your machine is setup for speed track, there will be a possibility of your machine flying off the track. The best way to know is still testing out your machine on the track.

QUOTE(bee4short @ Aug 19 2013, 09:39 PM) i have built this car from scratch. by from scratch i mean 0 experience and understanding, but i am following the guides and i watched a couple of youtube tutorials, i've seen TU tracks quite often since i got most of my parts from there. i played this since a long time ago but that's just casual, now i intend to go further. i was building a tech car but right now im not quite sure, i will go for a run at TU hopefully it doesnt suck haha. opinions are very much welcomed thanks Looks pretty good for a balanced setup. If you want to tune your chassis balance further, see where your motor and batteries are located. That's where most of the weight balance will be, and from there on you can estimate which parts of the car needs more / less weight. This all depends on how u want to tune the chassis balance, either heavier forward, centralised weight, or more weight at the back. A brake setup also depends on the track layout too, and also type of tyres used. There are also heavier solid machined aluminium wheels coming soon from Tamiya. I myself am a coming - back fella in this field lol. Trying to use my knowledge in automotive to apply to this tiny machines lol.

QUOTE(noorimanyosh @ Sep 9 2013, 02:04 AM) how to balance car???letak dekat track asyik terbang je??lulz.. When does your machine flies off the track? Lane change? Jumps? At corners? The easiest way to balance your machine is to see where does it flies off and how it flies off, and then you can study how to balance your machine.

I say go for MA. Very easy to tune, lots of new parts released can be used for MA, and it is currently the most balanced and stable chassis released by Tamiya (search YouTube and see for yourself). Ugly body? Nope. Blast Arrow and Heat Edge bodies replicate 24 hour FIA Prototype Class racers, and the bodywork helps the downforce and cooling of motor and battery. Combined with the aerodynamic chassis, it really works. But you can always use bodies from MS chassis. Heck, I got three different polycarbonate bodies from MS chassis lol. QUOTE(soulfly @ Nov 3 2013, 12:50 PM) I'm contemplating whether to get MA, MS or AR chassis I just want to know whether there is really a significant difference between the performance of these chassis, or does further tune up will fix any performance differences? Because I see many people around me recommended MA chassis but there's only like 2 models and both have 'less cool' bodies, lol. I know the AR uses the old engine placement, while the PROs using the mid engine layout. * used to play back in the early 90's LOL.

You need parts can let me know. Alternatively, there are loads of parts sellers locally in FB. For friendly shops that got track for you to test your machine, you can go to Live Tech Phantasia (LG, Kompleks Mutiara, Jalan Ipoh) or Speed Houz at Seasons Square 1st floor at Damansara, can find 'em in FB too.

No mate, only official latest Tamiya rules only.
Btw finally I shall have my own basic three lane track with 360 degrees loop as lane changer. Trying to buy a few pieces here and there to make it longer. Once I have it, everyone is welcomed to try! Track location I don't have yet, so anyone can offer a place is welcomed. Since it will be a basic track without bridge sections / inclined banked corners / jumps, basic tuned cars should be enough!
