See that Super 1 with SX/SXX wheel?
Put tire you wanna trim on the wheel, very sharp blade + some lube, trim it.
Then finishing touches with sandpapers to finalize the surface and dimension.

Need a very steady hand if you want to use the blade method so that you wont overcut the tire and your hand. tongue.gif

If not, use sandpapers. It'll consume hours of work and lotsa batteries to be used.

It'll be much faster if you had a rotary tool in hand. nod.gif

wow...that look clean  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
hmm  hmm.gif ....I've tried trimming as well by using MS pro, mach dash moto and sand paper only....but I don't make it too thin.....still in learning process
once I have buy a driller, the process should be easier...hehe

so how was it? manage to complete the course?
I'm going tonite....I've changed my setup by installing hanging damper...first time doing it....wanna see can stay in that track or not without addition damper
*
Completed the course once the batteries weakened a bit.. tongue.gif

I just brought the car with just some basic tools and stuff.

For the time being, nope.
A bit time consuming with just using the Super 1 chassis. shakehead.gif

semitech or semispeed??
more to semitech?? hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
Yup..
This one more to semi-tech I think with the front 13mm double rollers with rubber rings and those 19mms.

Capai² barang dalam kotak then assemble only.
Later baru perasan, "Eh! Ini semi-tech!" tongue.gif

QUOTE(mudster @ Dec 2 2013, 08:05 PM)
Hi guys, I used to play this many years ago (maybe about 15 years or more) near Atria, Damansara Jaya and I am just restarting from scratch (my old proto emperor zx had an unfortunate accident with a wall :~( ).

Right now, I have to relearn everything again. I just got myself the basic Shadow Shark AR chassis. I want to know what should I do next?

Any recommendations?
*
Grab 2 sets of this Basic Tune up set.. Item no. 15435
user posted image
Double the front and rear plate for better strength..

Next, ball bearings for wheels, ball bearing rollers, motors, front and rear brakes.

Use stock wheels first as the stock medium diameter wheel with the low profile tires are pretty stable.

For brakes, try the sponge one first. Bila dah pandai nanti you can try the FRP plate one. icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(soulfly @ Dec 3 2013, 05:31 PM)
I rather recommend Basic Tune Up Parts for AR Chassis (item no. 15450) because the 15435 rear mounting is a tad easy to break.
*
QUOTE(mudster @ Dec 3 2013, 06:05 PM)
Alamak. Bought the standard one oredi. Arghhh....
*
I prefer the universal one as I can mount the brake further back = more brake time.

QUOTE(mudster @ Dec 4 2013, 12:18 AM)
Started off with the basic Shadow Shark AR kit (WP_001558.jpg), then added single plate (WP_001560.jpg). After that decided, single plate not enough, added another plate to the bottom (WP_001561.jpg).

Only not sure of the rear rollers setup (WP_001564.jpg). Does it look strong enough?
*
Good start.. thumbup.gif

BTW, you mount those 19mm rollers on wrong holes.
Follow this guide.

Any reason why need to make it narrower? Faster turning time?

Simply because of following the official Tamiya rules.
