This might sound like a really stupid question, but i am desperate, so pls bear with me!

I recently purchased 2 apartments side by side and i broke down the walls to turn it into 1 unit. In the 1st apartment, I broke down the kitchen so that the entire place becomes a large hall. The original hall uses broken marble and the original kitchen uses tiles. When I broke the kitchen down, I wanted to use back the same type of marble (or something similar). My contractor said that he could get it for me, but it wouldn't be 100% the same. At first, before polishing, it didn't look so bad. But after polishing it, the difference is so obvious! The new marble has a grayish hue to it whereas the original is white. is it possible to lighten the marble using chemical???

Never hear of any chemical can do that. Is a risk when joining old and new marble. I take the risk too.

You got to bite the bullet. Even marble seller won't guarantee it will match.

Marble is natural stone and completely white in its purest form. Coloration comes from the presence of minerals and you can't remove this because its part of the molecular structure. Either you live with it or replace the whole floor, no other choice.

maybe the marble is not 'old / mature' enough compare to the previous ones.

looks like i am screwed than as it is too late to replace the whole flooring. it didn't look that bad before polishing

Put vinly flooring over it.

i can't stand vinyl flooring bro! like factory production floor . anyhow will probably put a rug over it and hopefully with the furniture in place it won't look too noticeable (i highly doubt it though )

There is always a risk of different colour even though its the same type. As long as its from different block and slab, colour tone difference will exist and the question is how much is the tonal difference.
