most ppl here use branded player for the quality and reliability. if u think the money invest in such product are not ur idea, then it's good for u. But if u wan good price to quality ratio, get urself a branded player

jokeserv - for the like of alpine, pioneer, clarion or etc..... they got wide range of price from entry level to highend stuff. I'm sure u can get less than rm400 for a cd player.

if u r not serious about ice, since u got budget constrain, you can install 2 or 3 way coaxial speakers. They r relatively cheaper than 2way component set

Funny though, u wanted good sounding player but your budget only suits cap ayam brands, how do u suppose any sifu here to even hint any suggestion? Get real bro, good thing don't come cheap. Anyway most of us here don't rate cap ayam brands and will not recommend any either, my advice get it plug in and test it yourself at the shop.

With your current budget might as well stick with your stock system

just start with the cd player first. 400-500 can get u kenwood, sony, jvc, clarion, 500-600 can get u pioneer or alpine.

next stage save up for component speakers, 700-800 will get u entry level models of some good brands

after that only save up for an amp, starting around 800 maybe, plus 100-200 for wiring

for tips on brands, go to the thread discussing good brands for car audio
