Recent patch (2 weeks ago), there was a huge balance patch which nerved Over-powered heroes (Predator, Night Hound) and also those burst-damage heroes (Fayde, Dampeer). New items were introduced, new heroes and avatars.


Maybe HoN is dead in this forum. But it's still alive for many Malaysian players, and Singaporean players as well.

Trying playing in a clan....you will find that there are still lots of players.

Erm, and one more thing is that we're old Beta players, which means we actually played during the HoN closed beta period. Players like us actually got many gifts during HoN events for free, such as legacy, Gold Name, exclusive avatars.

Good to hear that they try balance the hero, but still player database getting lesser compared to before.

I don't really mind about free stuff like avatar or name colour since we can get it with gold coin. Let's talk about hero pool, compared between SEA HoN and NA/EU HoN, we still need to play and earn silver coin to unlock hero or pay cash to unlock hero. I think it is kind of unfair since NA/EU HoN they had already unlock all hero to their player. Maybe we have some event like play 25 MM to get few hero in certain period. Seriously? I don't think everyone are free to do so, at least for me.

I really hope G a r e n a will do something to their player but not only care about profit.

Yeap i also agree they should give all heroes for free....Newest hero Circe Deceiver is free in Int server.....


I tried transfering to Dota 2, but i find that HoN is more fun due to its fast pace hahahaha

I try suggest them to unlock all hero for free in the forum before, but the G M staff told me. We have several hero bundle can purchase which is same to all hero unlock. I was like WTF? Even we have hero bundle , but we still need to pay cash to buy it.(Since hero bundle can only purchase with gold coin.) But whatever, they are profit company and everyone have their own business model, we can't really expect much on them.

Ya, for second point I also agree with you. I still love HoN more than Dota2 due to the game speed and graphic design, include those taunt and announcer. But I feel like Dota2 hero much more balance and it was actually very fun to play with friend. I try ask my friend join HoN before, they answer me why should them pay money to unlock those hero to play the game and they just stick to Dota2.

Bro. both your Ra and Parasite become more weak already, nerfed already in last month patch.

Amun Ra first and second skills have less damage. Previously, 1st and 2nd skills combo can kill and get all the creeps. Now, can't already. Only third skill duration of burning when low hp, the duration increases, and armor +1.

Parasite no more transfer buffs to magic immune units ...draining venom no more higher damage in late game phase

really...the GM staffs / moderators at HoN G forum are useless. They simply give stupid advices, sometimes, simply ban people's accounts, or suspend their real HoN account

Actually, I was hoping to join Dota 2 again....but due to my lack of knowledge in Dota 2 heroes, I cant seem to find any overpowered or easy-to-use heroes in Dota 2....item combination also a problem to me...hahaha

G A R E N A just f**ked the game up due to their bad management.

I play MOBA games more than 7 year, start from DOTA>HoN>DOTA2 and I am still learning.

Actually every game have their fun part, we can't deny about that. DOTA2 seem like more balance for me. If you wish to play DOTA2, maybe you can try practice with AI first to try out which hero suitable for you and item combination. For the item part, it is more or less similar to HoN.

I remember arguing with a few legacy players about the free hero unlock on the forums and tons of Ga rena whiteknights came and flamed us.. calling us poor and ''ungrateful'' to Ga rena. LOL. feels like arguing with BN supporters there. eventually we gave up.

Dota 2 is getting worse and worse, Valve focus on the cosmetics instead of porting old heroes.. just like what happened to TF2. End up focus on hats hats hats and money and made all the old players leave the game.

I stopped playing MOBA games though. too stressful and time consuming because I'm super competitive, so instead of enjoying a game it ends up making me more stress. Reached 1800+ MMR and didnt touch the game now. Might go and try the new Rift Wars mode since I loved OMG mode in Dota1.

Im just wondering whats your current MMR stats, cause 7 years, I can say that you're a very experienced and pro player

I played HoN for 4 years only, now my MMR highest is 1650 only...Dota 2 i dont know what kind of stats system they use (i think is kdr and number of wins and lose games)

As for Ra, I don't mind much since nowadays many players have tried and successfully killed Ra time and time again, one have to up the ante on how to play that hero. Ra is very easy to farm moneh so I for one don't mind. Constant nerf of ma hero keeps me wanting to play more to proved that I can better myself

Even with Portal Key Ra can't really do much if the carry is slow.

Parasite on the other hand is only reliable up to middle game IMO. He is my pick of the opponent picks hard carry hero, so much win owning them since many trashtalk that they will own us

No points to argue with legacy players and those forumer, they just whine that G A R E N A shouldn't open all hero free to play because either they are legacy account or they did invest many money in HoN. But whatever, I have like 80% of hero from the hero pool. So, it doesn't really matter to me. But, its is kind of painful for new player, because they can only choose certain hero from hero pool.

Ya, I also agree with you. Nowadays, there are just too many cosmetics in MOBA games, like LoL, HoN, Dota2. And the company only care for profit instead of game quality itself.

I think maybe you can give it a try to strife. It is a new MOBA game which develop by S2 games.(same company which develop HoN)

Just a decent player, not a pro. I just reset my stat before I leave HoN. Mostly, I play MM alone and able to reach 1700MMR. Maybe if I installed back the game, we can play together.

Dota2 queue is based on your level. Not sure about ranking, maybe how many match you win?

I mean legacy players also support the movement to unlock the hero.. main points were improving the tournament scene cause right now new blood hard to go into the scene without all hero access. I mean, why go for HoN where you can't even practice hero combination without buying? might as well go Dota 2.

But they like to call people poorfags just because we dislike the hero unlock system. sigh. Free hero= more people play. Don't know why they don't understand this.

Lets say, you pick Magmus. Once you die, you respawn with Devourer hook skill, and Deadwood ulti skill.

From what I see, most of legacy player are not support unlock all hero free to play and they will just call other player poorfags why don't just top up and unlock all hero. Maybe they think that access to all hero is the priority for legacy member but without thinking for other player. And I got some friend who play tournament, they get legacy member for free from G M.

Stats game? Or just like mid war?

This Thursday, that game mode will be under "beta" phase. Which means stats for KDR and winning rates will not be recorded. But leaver percentage will be recorded if we leave the game.

Something like MidWar.

By the way, now we have new Casual Unrank and Normal Unrank system, whereby, there are no stats for these casual and normal modes. We play and we train our heroes, we meet different levels of players, from 0 MMR to 2000 MMR.

waoh seem like HoN change a lot, might give it a try when I was free. So now, how about the ranking system? No more MMR and KDR?

Still have...if you prefer to play with stats, you can play in the Casual and Normal mode Matchmaking, MMR and KDR will still be recorded


Now, when you click MatchMaking, we have these game modes:

Normal (Stat)
Normal Unrank (No Stat)
Casual (Stat)
Casual Unrank (No Stat)
MidWar


In Stat games, you meet with players with same MMR like you. Lets say if you're a 1600 player, other players will be around 1600 MMR as well.
In unrank / No stat games, you meet players with different MMR. Lets say you're 1600 player, your team might have 1900 MMR player, 1200 MMR player, 1700 MMR player....different skills based

HoN really is a good game though. It was so ahead of time with the smooth gameplay and graphics. too bad S2 didn't know how to capitalize on the initial popularity.. if only they pumped money and invest in HoN like how Riot did for LoL I'm sure HoN will be a very big game now.

The rift wars mode sounds fun.. gonna try it tonight.
