Yes, modem will affect data connection/WIFI/GPS.
Try flash back to previous modem file that is working good for you.
I find XXKI4 modem WIFI reception is weaker for me, XXKH3 is better.
*
Thanks smile.gif XXKG2 was perfect..

on XXKI1 now and it seems my data connection is horrible!

Thinking of going to XXKG3 hmm.gif

i always flash modem using CWM?
anything wrong with it?
*
just asking since i saw this by pulser

QUOTE
If cwm is validating sigs by default, I may look at it. But I am not too happy at the ability to disable signature verification... Signing a zip takes seconds for me to do on a 200 MB rom, so if someone can't do it, they shouldn't be trusted to release, if I'm brutally honest.

Either way if cwm looks safe enough, I'll consider it, but I have reservations in modem flashing without odin being handy...

I always flash modem through cwm. When you flash new rom with modem also through cwm. So far no one have complain before. Pulser is only against putting modem in his rom because everyone's location is different.
*
i see..so just select flash kernel and flash it?

Thanks! notworthy.gif

I sorta gave up with KI4 after I got echos during phone calls and ran back to trusty old KH3.

Oh, and CWM modem flashing does have one dangerous potential side effect: EFS corruption. I went through that at least once already.
*
have you seen anyone having a problem resembling mine?

time to try KH3 i guess =/ and it's a lucky thing i backed up my EFS already smile.gif

But, I find my iPod touch 4g browser is as fast as my google chrome on PC.

what you find is subjective.

it is also dependent on your network, traffic to a particular site and a host of many other variables.

but it's good enough for me.

Newly flashed checkrom? Did you wipe before flash? Try clearing cache and dalvik cache.

Or just download directly the things you want on PC then manually flash in CWM.

wiped and cleared cache and dalvik before flashing

I think the problem is not on your side. Leomar site is down causing the app to FC. I also got FC now. Just try again later.

yeah, i just checked the xda thread. seems like there's a problem with the servers or something like that giving a lot of people FCs.

phew, i thought i messed it up somehow sweat.gif
