well most people like me need root for superuser access since we need the admin permission to run certain apps such as adFree,droidwall,root explorer,setcpu,titanium backup and many2 more apps out there that need superuser to run..

use other launcher like LauncherPro, Go Launcher or ADW launcher test them all if u have too for me LP is alredy good and customizable too and combine with custom icons sure feel great..
