is anyone interested on 2000mah battery by samsung?
coz a friend of mine can give good price if got good demand smile.gif

btw.. mine also green and vibrating although my finger is 1 cm away...

Now you wanna ajak people. I aledi bought TWO lol.

Anyhows, just like the iFags who think that 3.5 inches is the "perfect" screen size, I think that 5 inches is going TOO FAR, at least where smartphones are concerned.

I mean, it's a phone and I use my phone one handed while on the move A LOT (for phone stuff AND surfing, hence my sub 12hour battery life most of the time, even with extended batteries).

I can BARELY type single handedly as it is with the SGS2 woi, if I ever get the Note, I'll have to have BOTH my hands free before I can do anything - which is gonna cut my enjoice time by a considerable margin.

So no. Sticking with the SGS2 for now, and prolly until my Blue OLEDs die off. If I EVER get itchy for a larger screen, I'll jump to a tablet of some sort.

Only thing that's gonna make me even think of going anywhere else is a phone with full-stripe HD AMOLED screen (4.5 inches MAX) + properly implemented Wolfson DAC + 8MP++ BSI sensor -> specs I HOPED the GalNex would have, but it didn't either.

On other unrelated news, I dropped my SGS2 today. Hard. Against a tiled floor. Battery cover popped slightly open, but that's it. It remained alive through the entire ordeal too.

Thankfully, I wasn't using the Momax. If I was, the increased mass would have probably resulted in harder impact - which the crappy Momax case would probably not handle that well.

Managed to crack the el-cheapo bumper I was using near the DBT antenna hole though, oh well. Thankfully I plug all the antenna holes in ALL my cases with electrical tape (for some unknown reason it will ALWAYS fall to the ground that end first lol).

So, score two for my heavily armoured SGS2 (BSE skin overall + Glas/Estoc front + el-cheapo ebay bumper), zero for Uncle Newton. Fuuuh.

Agreed. If he went and said:

"Hey there, I is the selling accessories. Come and buy: LINK"

Now that's sales spamming. Bulk buys are useless without the community to bulk it IMHO, so we just discreetly accept indirect bulk offers.

All in all we're more tolerant of these kinda stuff over here.

@darkangel: ROFL. That made my day bro.

samsung will change it no doubt! however i duno if samsung will change da whole screen bcoz this problem wasnt there with the first screen.. so im guessing da zomgwtfbbq sensor is built-in.. maybe the technician freaking micro-nudged causing microdamage to da sensor while mounting da chunky screen...
*
IMHO they should change the whole assembly. Otherwise, stuff might go wonky as the whole thing is tighly wired together.

XXKI4 modem flashed with no problem. but my web surfing is still problematic doh.gif surf about 1-2 minutes and can't load pages again.

Boat and xScope says

Data connectivity problem: The server failed to communicate. Try again later.

I sorta gave up with KI4 after I got echos during phone calls and ran back to trusty old KH3.

Oh, and CWM modem flashing does have one dangerous potential side effect: EFS corruption. I went through that at least once already.

U meant the 1080p video playing on SGS-2, the graphic is very poor?

When objects moving fast, can u see pixels?

Thanks.
*
No, what he means is running 1080p videos on a 480p screen is ridiculous. And why wouldn't it be? It's honestly a waste of time to even play 1080p videos on the "retina" screen of the 4s as retina IS NOT 1080p resolution either.

It's like playing bluray movies on an old CRT TV.

Plug to HDTV and THEN play 1080p movies. Then it's worth it.

Honestly, I RARELY surf with my laptop these days, as the SGS2 can handle 90% of whatever I throw at it already.

This was never the case with my old iP4, because - let's face it - flash OWNS the Internet. Almost every other website is flash enabled and even with Puffin Browser the iP4 is useless when you stumble onto a site with heavy flash elements.

Speed wise? Of course the laptop wins. iP4 also has a very tiny speed advantage but heck, it doesn't run flash. If course it's faster.

Another question here,

When I want to play a 1080p video on the SGS-2 which only has 480p resolution, how does that 1080p video fit into my 480p screen?

1080p videos being played on 480p screen is worsening/increasing the quality of that 1080p videos?
*
Again, like playing bluray on a CRT TV. Which is gonna be the same even when you play that file on an iP4s.

The difference is the SGS2 is like a kick ass flat screen CRT with deep blacks. While the iP4 is a tiny, marginally sharper CRT.

The picture will extend beyond your screen, the phone will produce a silicon mist and then project a holographic image of the movie that cannot fit onto the physical screen.

obviously will get resize to fit la, common sense la, you play 1080p on 720p laptop screen also same la. wont increase wont decrease, just not worth the space to playback on that screen, better off connect to tv and play.

you watch 480p and 1080p in sgs2 no difference wan unless the 480p is low quality and has low bitrate, then maybe 1080p resized will be sharper than the 480p. since 480p=1080p in SGS2 why put in such a big size video file 1080p when you can put in a much smaller 480p. that's what people been trying to tell you
*
But seriously speaking, why do people want 1080p resolution on a phone ANYWAY? While is arguable that whatever PPI retina is at is "the limit of human perception", 1080p, even in a 5 inch screen is SO FAR BEYOND that limit it's ridiculous.

It's like, your eyes can't tell the difference anyway lol.

But, seeing that Apple is DEAD SERIOUS on putting DOUBLE RETINA on the iPad 3... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

They're gonna drown us in so much techmarketing that "sharper then life" is gonna be something you NEED.

Unless they have the wire to wire the phone to a 1080p TV to look at the difference on that TV... For some to show off the phone supports 1080p playback... icon_idea.gif

Woih, I actually enjoy watching crappilicious 480p anime streams on my Samsung HD Plasma, simply because I can lie down and enjoy the big-ness.

Plus the SGS2 actually upscales crappy video pretty well really.

Btw, how does it capture full HD videos?

Shouldn't the max resolution of videos it can capture is 480p?

Thanks.
*
Sigh. Then how can the iP4 capture 720p when the (tiny) screen is only about 640p/i? Or the iP4s capture 1080p when the screen is STILL only about 640p/i (all while remaining equally tiny).

The resolution of videos captured is dependant on your SENSOR and PROCESSOR. Has nothing to do with your screen.

Plus, the 720p/1080p videos the SGS2/iP4s captures are meant to be watched ON A COMPUTER or HDTV.

Edit: Ninj0red too. DestEx cheating yaaa? Not using SGS2 to reply izzit? Or maybe using Siri to type lolz.

is there an app that allows me to choose the type of connection my mobile data is? for example, i want it to stay on 3G only and not on HSPDA since my area doesn't have good coverage. the constant switching of connection type prevents my phone from sleeping and it drains a ton of battery
*
No app. There's a secret code you can enter in dialer though.

*#301279# -> 2 -> 1. Finish with airplane mode on and off.

Voila, you ONLY have 3G.

To revert to original settings, type that again and choose 2 -> 3. Finish up with airplane mode AGAIN.

I personally use 2 -> 2. H down, no H up (indicator will NEVER show H anymore though). YMMV.

PS: n1nj0rd yet again. Fishsticks.

ROM? I take it you're running Siyah. And while I'm not really a benchmark guy, that's some serious numbers.

AOSP?

Interesting stuff I noticed in the Siyah FAQ

QUOTE
Q: do I need to recalibrate the battery?

A: You don't need to calibrate battery for SGS2. Thanks to Entropy512 to pointing out that our device uses MAX17042 which is specifically designed not to require calibration.

Hmmmmmmmm. We should stop telling people to "calibrate their battery" because the hardware doesn't even care lol.

Two words. RAM caching. AngeleROM used to do the same crap. Not that it matters, my view on Quadrant is similar to master Hacre:

QUOTE
Quadrant is largely a meaningless test, results rendered utterly useless by all the retards that mount everything to a ramdisk before running so they can masturbate furiously at HIGHER NUMBERS firmly and unironically of the belief that it increases their self worth and reputation.

Please people. Do yourself a favour and use Antutu if you NEED to quantify your NEED FOR SPEED that badly.

coz i have problem with the black color (TMRND).... connected.. can surf for 3 minutes then cannot surf anymore after that...

i asked them to change to DLINK( white n orange).. now work like what.. like charm...
*
The TM modem is not even crap, it's simply shit. Avoid like the plague. Even worse for me my installer is "out of stock" when it came to the old dlinks, so I was practically screwed.

Even now, using my old Belkin G WIFI router and the TMRnD as a bloody splitter ONLY, my internet STILL has seizures like a retarded idiot monkey and the WHOLE system needs occasional reboots.

National Broadband my ass.

Do yourself a favour and get a proper router. Refer here: http://is.gd/jQya8x

Are you rooted? If you are just delete Maps using TiBu, copy the modded maps.apk into system/app (make sure you've set filesystem to r/w), set permissions and restart.

And IDK about the 1st page tut, but the modded onwhere maps are now up to ver 5.11.0 already last I checked.

Try the dialer tweaks first.

*#301279# -> 2 -> 2

and

*#9900# -> disable fast dormancy.

Next step to try: Flash a new modem through ODIN if you're unrooted/CWM if you are (in which case BACK UP YOUR EFS FIRST LA WOI). Good ones IMHO for Malaysia is KE4, KF2, KH3 and KI4.

THEN try new ROMs.

Lastly, go back to Sammy. You might have a hw defect.

I mean, I RARELY have connection issues (except when I'm in Subang area, Celcom data sucks bola-bola over there) and I'm actually surprised that so many people do.
