da speed is very much dependent on network mode..gsm or higher class 3g+,
Maxis n Celcom will giv u da best result as their download speed exceeds 1mb.

also equally imp is signal strength eg. umobile with good signal u can get maxium download speed of 10mbps

my old bb 9780 loads webpages quite fast with 3g.. thanks to compressed data from bb server ...

Oh? That's weird.... was using CheckRom for a while... no issues like that yet... hmmm... if that happens, might revert to ol' trusty Cognition1.5.1. which was by far stable as hell for me... just tak tahan menge-flash ROMS especially when they mentioned how the 2.3.5. had better battery life.

The browser rendering speed is fast on the Galaxy S2 and it is enough and decent for everyday use in standard browsing.
Depending on what kind of websites you surf, you might as well stick back to your laptop. Eg. Playing flash game.
If you are only reading news and updates etc, everything works fine in GS2.

The browser is quite fast even on my EDGE connection. And youtube is quite smooth too. Rarely buffer.

Still depends to telco coverage etc.

For a SGS2 newb, my main concern now is the battery life. My batt was at 50% when I went to sleep, then woke up to a battery alert, 9% already!!!

I think I know why, last time I restored all apps + data. This time I restored missing apps + data. So my browser must have been restored last time...

My netbook is an AMD C-50 dual core 1GHZ. Scrolling wise with heavy flash, the S2 wins, but playing back 1080p mkv's the PC wins, SO this proves that the phone CPU is way faster, just my GPU in my PC can decode the 1080p mkv so it only utilises like 30% of the CPU ( and this is with HDMI out to my 1080p Bravia)

I don't know about him but 1080p mkv video plays smoothly in my SGS2.
But I only do that once for testing, there is really no reason to play 1080p video in a phone which is only 480p.
Play 1080p in a Full HDTV instead

But seriously speaking, why do people want 1080p resolution on a phone ANYWAY? While is arguable that whatever PPI retina is at is "the limit of human perception", 1080p, even in a 5 inch screen is SO FAR BEYOND that limit it's ridiculous.

It's like, your eyes can't tell the difference anyway lol.

But, seeing that Apple is DEAD SERIOUS on putting DOUBLE RETINA on the iPad 3...

They're gonna drown us in so much techmarketing that "sharper then life" is gonna be something you NEED.
