there are Do's and Dont's before and after setting up Imprint..most common response from Imprint users is lack of bass..

give u some tips for pre-Imprint setup, lower your Sub amp gain and set your Subwoofer volume at HU @ 1/4 level, disable sub x-over (set to FULL mode) and other bass boost function..Imprint will only auto set the x-over point for Sub LP and Mid HP, therefore pls disable the x-over for those 2 that I've mentioned..as for your front stage component, make sure amp gain levels are already matched and balanced between midbass/midrange/tweeters, disable x-over Mid HP..as for Mid LP and Tweeter HP, Imprint will not auto set, you got to set it at HU first (if u are running Active), unless u are using passives then is fine..

now you should be ready to run the Imprint setup test..

once Imprint setup is done, raise your sub amp gain..for better bass response, try uploading Linear curve..i find that Imprint cut down the low freq a lot under Reference curve..

let us know the results if u plan to rerun Imprint smile.gif

Once you install Imprint & setup the calibration, they disable all the EQ functions and gives you treble and bass.

Once MultEQ is enabled @ HU, the only settings from "Normal" mode (MultEQ off) which Imprint retained are the crossover points and slopes for Mid LP and Tweeter HP, crossover levels are not retained. I felt that Alpine did not do well in terms of documentation for Imprint, forcing users to do trial and error and also sharing of experiences in forums..

right now i'm no more using Imprint (limited tuning in HU, alot disabled) and revert back to Normal mode...i made myself familiarize how does Imprint sounds like, and i tune it under Normal mode to correct what is lacking and etc until the sound is not much different than Imprint..

have fun playing with Imprint smile.gif

yes, in MultiEQ mode, i left with treble/bass/balance/fader and that's it. nothing more nothing less. so if it's in Normal mode, does the time correction value (tcv) need to be readjust again if we already calibrate it using Imprint? No time to rerun imprint for now, since I need to take out the passanger seat to adjust the crossover/gain level to trick the Imprint.

I thought imprint (multiEQ) and normal mode are totally seperate system? meaning that all the calibration setting which has been set and saved in Curve1 or 2 will be not being saved in normal mode? after imprint calibration, all the audio settings has been disable, leaving only bass/treble/fader etc those basic thing.

to make things clearer,

a) Imprint calibration will not alter any of your settings stored in Normal mode.
b) Imprint will only respect whatever Mid LP and Tweeter HP x-over points and slopes that you have set under Normal mode, other functions (TA, EQ, x-over level, phase) will be auto configured by Imprint. Let's say you switch back to Normal mode (MultEQ off), all your settings in Normal mode will be back to what you have manually set earlier on, therefore your TA settings are never erased/replaced by Imprint. The only settings in Normal mode which can affect Imprint mode is the Mid LP / Tweeter HP x-over points and slopes, that's all. icon_rolleyes.gif

Imprint tuning using PXA-H800 will be more flexible, you could manually adjust the Imprint settings if u are not satisfied, unlike us cant do anything else besides treble/bass/balance/fader..totally different experience..
