QUOTE(ken2291 @ Nov 5 2011, 11:07 AM) u can flash custom kernels using Odin, just load the tar file into PDA section. then u'll get CWM to flash the zip. if u wanna go back to stock for warranty reason, just reflash the whole rom make sure the kernel u flash is intended for ur rom, like Froyo/Gingerbread/CM7/MIUI. refer to the 1st page on how to flash Thanks for the tip, really appreciate it....any kernel on recommendation? i see people on telondev on their signature....its the best?

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Nov 13 2011, 12:35 AM) You would need to go to recovery mode (Up, Home, Power when powered off), then install from sdcard, select the zip file and then reboot. Just download the latest. 0.5.2.5. It's really stable for me. When i go recovery there are only reboot system, apply update frm sd card, wipe data and wipe cache......so you mean i need to dl the zip file and put in my sdcard and go recovery and select apply update from sdcard??

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Nov 13 2011, 12:02 PM) Yup Thanks for all the guide and help! really appreciate it..... QUOTE(ronaldkh. @ Nov 13 2011, 11:05 AM) You don't have the CWM recovery, thus no 'install zip from sdcard' option can be found. Is the TalonDEV kernel in .zip only? You need a .tar file to flash via Odin. I advise you to flash this first. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108this are stock karnel with cwm? thanks for the link...=D This post has been edited by sasoji: Nov 13 2011, 12:07 PM

QUOTE(sacred21 @ Nov 22 2011, 03:23 PM) Hi, I'm not a technie and i have a Samsung galaxy S (i9000) running on android 2.1. I would like to upgrade it to 2.3 but before i do that i want a full backup on my phone (including apps, saved games, contacts, sms...etc). So, what is the best simplest way of doing it? I read about rooting the phone, but my phone is still under warranty and i'm afraid rooting it will void the warranty...please advise. Thanks in advance. I think the easiest way is to flash stock jv9, it is also gingerbread 2.3, using kies it wont reset your phone so you don't need to backup anything This post has been edited by sasoji: Nov 22 2011, 06:18 PM
